Dr. Petto is a serious professor. If you expect to do well without putting in the work she is the wrong professor for you. If you want to learn and become a better writer, she is great. She gives extensive feedback and is willing to meet outside of class at almost anytime (even outside of her office hours). I would not hesitate to take her again.

If I had to choose another class I would. Not that this class was horrible, but it was HARD. I wish this class was not a lecture class because I might have grasped the concept more. Also no attendance policy in a class of 200+ so it was hard to stay focused. She was a nice lady but I wish I could have picked a different history class.

This was a challenging course, but I really like Petto! She is very sweet. My advice is go to class, take notes, read the textbook, and before your midterm and final print out your quizzes and study from those! You must put in the work.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! If it is not manditory avoid at all costs. Very unclear, not helpful, doesn't review tests and can't see your mistakes, online tests are a joke closing at 12 pm in the middle of the week! She expects you to be ahead when you spend hours trying to figure out what she is even talking about. AVOID horrible teacher!!!

The clickers that are required for class are annoying, but you need those for taking exams, her attendance, and pop quizzes. Kinda boring, but she's really nice. Exams can be pretty easy if you pay attention and study the vista quizzes. Take her :)

Great class..she keeps the lectures interesting and is really nice and generally wants people to do well. If you get a bad grade its because you didn't do the identities or even attempt to understand it. She has audio recording that are great & has great resources to use. Take notes and you'll be golden.

If you follow along and listen to her lectures you will do well in her class. She is great at giving you all the needed information and allowing you to understand it correctly. If you study your notes well before and exam and dedicate time to knowing the material you will do well.

Not a bad class. Gives a curve at the end. She is not always clear when lecturing, but if you read a book, you'll be fine on quizzes and tests. All quizzes were online. And few exams in class. Would highly recommend this class.

Petto is a really nice lady who knows her stuff. If you want to pass you must take good notes and you must attend class. She gives pop quizes (one question) and 3 exams. She remembers who does their work, so put in a little effort and she will reward you. The only down side is she gives such detailed notes it is hard to figure out what to study.

I wouln't call her a BAD teacher. She did great teaching a class of 300 STUDENTS! She gives tests and quizzes drops like 2 of them. She curves in the end and if you put in effort you are guaranteed an A. My tips are if you don't want to go to class... *listen to the audio lectures *do the 20 ID's *save your quizzes to study from

Hard class. Professor loves Western Europe and knows her history, great teacher. Huge lecture class, over 200 students, not for me. Attendance is not mandatory, but I missed 1 lecture and was lost. She was alway nice to me, willing to answer questions via e-mail and in person. On-line audio lectures (so helpful), and outlines. Resources are there.

she is one of the worst teachers i have ever had. she is not helpful and the way she teaches the class is very hard to follow. she puts her power points online, but they are no help either, as she only puts names and other keyowords with no definitions. you dont have to go to class, but unless u love history or know alot about it you will be lost.

She's a hard teacher, but you use what she teaches you long after the class is over. She is a very hard grader and you have to be willing to do the work. Unless you're a History Major it's not worth your time to take her.

Professor Petto did a great job at teaching this W course. There was a heavy workload, but I learned so much more about myself as a writer. The final was an oral presentation with a lot of work but we had plenty of time to do it. Overall I learned a great deal and would definitely recommend her.

I was in a 300 person lecture class. I never went to class, I just went over her Chapter guides and read the book.. I walked away with an A. The study guide comes in handy... just get index cards and write down all the terms and definitions. Online exams are simple and the in class midterm and final are just as easy.

I took it in the large stadium with almost 300 others. If you go to class, it will help you so much with exams. I suggest note cards for each terms, questions on exams are thorough. She gives all notes online, buying the textbook would be helpful also you need a clicker for this class. Just don't walk out of class with your stuff, then she gets mad

If lecture hall, your on your own. Teaches by book. Strives to make class interesting. Attendance, depends on size of class. If you choose to go by book and not her notes, youll do fine. Respectful and gives you responsibility of getting things done on your OWN (aka the real world of College). Great teacher and easy to follow.
