To reiterate what everyone else says, he's not an easy grader. He gives good feedback and if you don't do so well, you know exactly what you need to do to improve your grade on your next assignment. He is very blunt and doesn't sugar coat things. So expect constructive criticism. If you accept it, your writing with improve greatly over time.

Not to repeat what everyone else already said, but he is a really tough grader who expects a lot from this students. Yet I would rather get a B+ or A- than an A and not have learned anything. The material was challenging. Yet he also made us apply it to what is going on in the world today. In particular, I appreciated the extra credit assignments.

If you want an easy online class, this isn't it. He has a rubric and if you want an A, you need to meet the expectations set. He gives good feedback on each assignment. Follow the feedback and you'll see your grade improve. If you have to argue to increase your grade with him, then you didn't meet that expectation, but good arguments are rewarded.

Unfair and unclear grading. Poor feedback. I got an A but I had to argue with him over dozens of emails to explain why I disagreed with his grading. Then, he said that me challenging my grade constantly was 'ad nauseam', essentially meaning annoying. He's not respectful of diverse political opinion. Also, he's arrogant and condescending.

Now, I wasn't a political science major or anything, but wow he expected a lot. He doesn't give notes, make powerpoints, or record lectures for online classes, so everything you learn you learn from reading. I have never read so much for any other class and I was an English major. Make sure you're always caught up for this class.

He is a REALLY tough grader. There are lot of papers due in his online course. Make sure you don't take more than two classes if you are planning to take his class because there are lot of readings textbooks and journal articles. I am an A student and this class was very difficult to even to get a B.

Overall, he is a really good professor I took his online course so I never actually met him, but he is definitely a REALLY tough grader. I have never received a D on an assignment before, so it was eye-opening. There are a lot of papers due in the course that require you to read the book and the quizzes are also difficult.

Beware of online discussions, I'm not sure how many are like me and just dread them, but there are a ton in this course. The worst part is he expects you to reply to 2 other students and respond to all the questions on yours. There are also a lot of papers for an elective. I had to drop.

If you like structure this course is not for you. Deviations from the syllabus were a regular occurrence. We had several papers in which he would change the requirements last minute. HE IS A GREAT TEACHER, and person you want to have long discussions with, but not the most organized. While attendance is not mandatory, participation counts.

Christoph was an excellent teacher but don't expect to skate by. He graded on a curve which was nice. Good news is, he takes most of his exam questions directly from the book. So, do the readings and you'll pass without problems. Doesn't hurt he's pretty hot too, which is nice when those political discussions become a little tedious

Read the book, read the articles, go to class, LISTEN, ask questions and make sure you understand. Dr. Stefes is an international expert. Sharing his point of view is a rare privilege for students. Don't waste it. He expects his students to work hard and he extends every opportunity to succeed. I learned so much!

I really never cared much about the world outside the United States. Christoph opened my eyes. It's a good thing that he is from Germany and not from here. His lectures were easy to follow. At least, they helped me a lot to understand the assigned material, which was a lot and not always easy. He pushed my limits. Great professor!

Great professor, actually cares about his students and how we are doing with the information, tests are HARD and you have to know what you're talking about. only gives a midterm, final, and a paper, so you have to kill it on everything!

He's a good prof as far as conveying information to the class but he doesn't understand student's schedules and assumes his class is the center of the universe. He has no flexibility whatsoever in terms of due dates and grading. I wouldn't recommend taking his class unless you don't work for a living. On the up side, he's hot.

He's also a good teacher, just in case anyone cares = ) Even though comparative is not my main interest, he makes it fun and interesting. His comments on papers are quite helpful. Would recommend.
