Comment:

Cannon is the worst prof I ever had. no examples of good work, does not take questions, and no feedback. Examples of professional work? No. (this is a design class-adobe programs) dragging boring instructions with no over-all picture? Yes. No common sense. Monotone, not interested in students, doesn't care, really picky. Never take his class. Ever.

He puts too much energy in covering the syllabus and pages worth of instruction for an hour and a half- I timed it three times. He doesn't educate students on design elements and how we could improve ourselves as designers. I am very displeased with his performance. This isn't worth my money.

Most boring professor ever. I thought this class would be about creativity but it's all about requirements. He is very odd and the class is not fun at all. He only knows the basics of the programs he uses. Be in class for in-class assignments (10 points). If you do exactly what he tells you, you'll get an A, it doesn't even have to look good.

Very detail oriented. Very knowledgeable. His classes were always enjoyable. Always willing to work with you. I learnt a lot from this Prof. Highly recommended.

Mid Term and Final cover 3 or 4 textbooks we do not read or discuss during class. Easy enough to pass, but Cannon is a bit egotistical. If you let him talk about himself you will pass, just be prepared to be bored!

Comment:

Dr Cannon is a pleasant professor. I learned a lot in this webdesign class and am really satisfied with my results. Moreover the assignments and regulations in class were strict but very clear. It was not one of my most work intensive classes, however I enjoyed that we had the opportunity to work in class and get prompt feedback.

This photojournalism course wasn't the greatest. Basically we just watched youtube clips and slideshows as the prof drawled on. We barely touched our cameras in class, nor did we open the expensive textbook we had to buy. The assignments are not only demanding, he is really harsh with late work so try to get everything in on time.

Clear cut what he wants in his syllabus and his directions. His voice is monotone, but he is very knowledgeable. I like that he lists out everything that he wants for his papers, quizzes, tests, and projects. And if you ever need to talk to him, he's always there and very helpful.

Pretty much everybody else summed it up; even the Ben Stein mixed with a rock comparison. THE most boring teacher I've ever had. I had to not pay attention just so that I wouldn't get too angry sitting through class. He doesn't know any of the software hes "teaching." The most elementary class I've taken at HPU. You'll know your colors really well.

Boring boring boring. He is a journalism/graphic design professor teaching Interpersonal Communication. He had no idea what he was doing -- taught straight from the text, including reading passages during class. I lost information retention in that class. He's impossible to get a hold of outside of class; took a month to respond to my email. AVOID!

Boring teacher. He is very picky about copyrights, which can make it difficult to find pictures. His tests are easy, as long as you read. His criticism is pretty difficult, at times. His grading is very fair, though.

took in the summer, extremely detail oriented and although it's a graphic design course, he's copyright and "professional heavy" little to no creativity accepted in work he expects. extremely clear to the point of annoyance, avoid him, if you can't, take in summer term so you get it over with pronto.

Dr. Cannon is a nice guy but a horrible teacher. Lectures are monotonous and derived straight from textbook supplied ppts. He never brings his experience to the table which is very desired. He treats the class like an intro computer class. Students in a 3000 class do NOT need to learn how to cut and paste. Easy A, horrible learing experience.
