This class is long and boring. There's way too much information and because its a lecture it all starts to sound the same. Test are weighed heavily. I would not recommend this class to those with no interest in astronomy.

This is a very challenging course. I would recommend to stay away unless your this is your major. I took an online course and the amount of work was over-welhming. There were 10 responses, 10 quizzes, 2 Test and a Final that consisted of 75 question, 15 short answers, and 2 essays each. The amount of work required is insane for an intro class.

For such a complicated subject like Astronomy Herbert is simply the easiest professor for the job! He gives out 10 discussions and 10 quizzes due every 2 weeks which can look intimidating but he's an easy grader, there were no papers due and the final is basically all the questions from the quizzes!!

Excellent teacher 11 quizzes online, and three tests including a final but awesome teacher and the answers are right there in the lesson tools for you to get an A. If you dont get an A with this professor your either not fit for college or you are just into bubblegums.

This is one of the most fantastic professors I have ever encountered in my academic career. He is so well-organized, with a good-natured disposition which is extremely consistent with every class. I had gotten a c in his class due to a mix up in my priorities work vs. school, but he gives you so many oppurtunities to learn and excel.

He is a very nice and polite person. All the work is online so you don't need a textbook. He teaches from the presentations that are online. Gives two tests and if you have 90 or above you'll get an A on the final. Class is pretty much interesting if you are into astronomy!! I enjoyed the class and learned a lot as well. Take his class!

Online class. Very nice professor. Very helpful. Gives weekly forum postings (1 or 2 paragraphs) that are a big chunk of your grade, along with weekly quizzes on the chapter used that week. I suck at physics, so I didn't do too well in the class. He is a nice grader though, so no worries. Hard class to get into, so try and sign up ASAP.

I had him for in-class astronomy; it's not hard at all and you basically do everything online except for the tests and final exam. The answers for tests come straigth from the online quizes. If you get 90 or above on both test, you'll be exempt from the final exam and get straigth 100 for it. A worth while learning experience & good chance of an A.

I took his online class. He doesn't answer e-mail often, and he is often extremely cirtical about any text you type. Be careful with any papers you do, he is very picky about citiation. However, he will hear you out when it comes to debating a quiz or forum problem.
