Dr. Lennard is very enthusiastic about math and often makes jokes in lecture to make you smile in a morning class. He makes himself very available to students outside of class and makes sure you leave with all your questions answered. The best way to succeed in this class is to study homework problems religiously and go to office hours.

Dr. Lennard was my favorite professor this semester. He's engaging, hilarious, and incredibly intelligent and passionate about math. 0235 was tough, but if you put in the work, you should be fine. As in, DO THE HOMEWORKS! Trust me. Also, brush up on your basic Calc knowledge before you take this class, especially sequences and series.

I got a C and a B in the first two tests. I thought i was done. And he doesn't curve. But I end up with A+ The final is rather easy. (But it require a lot of work)The class do require u know some in calc1 at least. Lots of homework and those who can manage them should be fine in the class. Like him said," this is not wrong, mate!"

Math 0235 is a good course if you like calc and have had some previous experience in it, otherwise it will be a struggle. To pass the class, do the homework and review lectures, since test questions are from those. The class is paced well with the exception of the final weeks, when he dumps material on that he did not have time to teach in class.

This class is by no means easy, but if you stay on top of the work you'll be okay. He is clearly very passionate about calculus (and if your planning on taking this class you better be too). He makes the lectures exciting and he spends most of the time joking around and throwing markers across the room, while still teaching the information well.

He does his own thing. Didn't really teach material necessary for a calc III course. Puts way to much emphasis on theoretical algebra and geometry. Didn't even bother teaching chapters 11 or 12 from the textbook. Homework are extremely difficult (he writes them, not from text) but DO THEM. EXAM Q'S COME FROM RIGHT FROM THE HW

Best professor I've had yet. Will be hard pressed to find another who can explain things as well as him, while being hilarious, enthusiastic, and caring. He makes you work extremely hard. You will NOT pass the class if you don't do all of the work he assigns, at least for Calc III. However as as result, you'll understand the material better others.

He really seems to enjoy teaching, but neglects the important material. He will assign homework to read an important chapter and never mention it in class. That is how he has taught much of the course. I do not feel well prepared in the slightest for the final. Do not take him for Calc 3.

He has the potential to be a great lecturer but his priorities for this class were misplaced. He made us learn nearly a third of the course outside of class. Spent the first month and a half on vector algebra (our first exam had zero calculus on it). Tends to drag on about less important stuff, then really quickly do everything important in one go

Lennard is by far the best professor I have ever had. He's hilarious and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. The material is very difficult, the average on the second exam was sub-50. If you want to pass you need to spend a lot of time reviewing his lecture notes. 85+ is an A but he doesn't curve. Would definitely take again.

Great teacher. Would recommend 0235 if you like the theoretical part of it and has already taken it in high school (BC Calc). Gives you the theoretical intuition for materials normally done in computational way. Doesn't really cover calc 2 tho, you are expected to know/self learn the computational part of calc 2. Liked his class so much i took 450

Lennard was the most entertaining lecturer I've ever had. Fantastic prof. GET READY TO WORK! Class is VERY hard. I had a 22% on my first two exams. The only reason I passed was because I passed the final. And I had a 5 on the Calc AB AP test. If you think you love math, this is your class.

Funniest prof I've ever had. He is interested in his students and willing to help them succeed. Do ALL the homework: tests are very similar. There is extra credit available on every exam, and an A is an 85%. Average is a B- to B. Go to Lenny with any homework you don't understand. He will explain problems that are often later found on exams.

The best lecturer I've had. He is hilarious and a great guy. I looked forward to his lectures every day and always left feeling enlightened. It is a unique, difficult class; it is taught entirely through proofs, going into all the theory of calc 1 and 2 you could ever want. He is a very fair grader, however, and wants you to do well.

Pr. Lennard may very well be the best professor I have at Pitt. Probably the best teacher I will ever have. Every time I left his class I felt enlightened; I would go so far as to say his class completely changed my outlook on the subject in a positive way. The class is tough but if you do the homework you will be able to succeed.

By far the best and most interesting teacher I have ever had. He wants you to succeed and is very helpful and encouraging one on one. Lectures were kept interesting by his math jokes and creation of and naming of symbols for lots of theorems. Recitations were extremely helpful. DO THE HOMEWORK. Tests are almost exactly the same as the homework

He's the best professor you'll have! He's funny all the time. Aussie <3 He's pretty easy to follow if you pay attention. The exams are exactly the same as the homework so DO THE HOMEWORK. Don't wait until the very end because the homework is pretty challenging. Do the homework and you will...starts with P and ends with DONKEY... Right, PASS.

I would highly recommend this class for math majors or anyone looking for a more in-depth treatment of calc. Yes, it is hard, but he does give generous extra credit on tests and it is a very rewarding class. I thought he was a fantastic lecturer and he is very helpful in office hours.

1.you do not learn the things you'd learn in regular calc I and II 2.passionate, nice, enthusiastic 3.smart man, and good at explaining things one on one 4.lectures weren't too good, because it's easy to get lost, and once you do, you can't catch back up (this material has to be learnt at your own pace). people just go to lecture to get the notes
