Comment:
Professor Malone is incredibly laid back and disorganized, but is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable about stats, but is terrible at grading. There aren't clear guidelines, but it is fairly easy and Malone is SUPER flexible. Malone is very funny and actually genuinely cares about students. I would highly recommend taking him for any class.

A great teacher! He can go fast but if you have questions he is very accessible outside of class and is willing to help you out. He does weekly quizzes but drops your two lowest scores. He also does a lot of group quizzes and take home tests. Class is not mandatory but I highly recommend going. The one downside: he's slow to grade but you get E.C.!

Before this class, I had taken this course twice (and failing twice). He told me from the beginning I would pass this class. I always showed up because he was hilarious and everything was easy to learn with him. Please take him! He makes a 9:30 class so easy to get up for! Don't count on getting your test/quizzes grades back in a timely manner.

Malone is good if you want an easy A. For example, he'll give partial credit on multiple choice ?s and wants everyone to pass. He makes learning stats very easy and keeps things simplified. Downside is that he doesn't get things graded on time and doesn't use D2L, so you never truly know how you're doing on things.

Malone is one of my favorite professors at WSU. He gives a lot of take home tests, and you can use whatever resources you would like to complete it (including him and the tutor center). He uses real data, which let me know exactly how what I'm learning is going to apply outside of school. He was amazing. Take him and you won't be disappointed.

He is super nice. He sucks at grading and wont give anything back until towards the end of the semester. He goes through everything and answers questions if you have any. He is also really funny. Only 3 test including final and about 7 quizzes and most of them are group or take home. Only thing I would complain about is you dont know your grade

Malone is a very good Stats teacher. If you have a question he is more than willing to elaborate on anything. He does not use D2L, and never hands anything back for like 5 months, so you have no clue what your grade is. He also never responds to his email so if you have questions it is best to approach him in person.

Dr. Malone is very passionate about statistics, is a straight shooter, and can be funny at times but he takes forever to grade anything and doesn't use D2L. We took 3 quizzes before exam 1 and didn't get a single quiz back before the exam. There is no way to track your grade or how well you understand the content.

Malone is a super chill guy. He gives notes packet each class and lectures through them, you can tell he really cares about statistics. A handful of quizzes throughout the semester and only 2-3 tests including the final. My only complaint is he doesn't grade/hand back quizzes or tests in a timely manner so you don't know what your grade is.

Absolutely the worst professor I have ever had, at least for the Data Science course he teachers, not sure about stats. If you have any other option, take the other one, you will not learn a thing, he "teaches" by doing and is lazy, therefore the students have to suffer because everything is assigned late.

nice guy, not the best teacher for this course. He moves way to fast in class, never waits for people to have questions or catch up. Super unorganized, comes late to class EVERY day, then holds us 5 minutes after causing me to be late to my other class. Doesnt post grades AT ALL through out the semester, so you have no idea what your grade is

His lectures are pretty good and the homework is doable if you attend them. My only complaints are that grades aren't posted and he takes quite a while to grade our assignments. There is no textbook requirement for this class. We look at data files, mainly in Excel.

Malone is fantastic! He' super easy to understand, lectures are clear and easy to follow, and he gives out TONS of extra credit. He really cares about how the students are doing in the class. He's not very good about giving grades back, but he'll give extra credit if it's taking way too long. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!!!

I took stats 110 with another professor last semester and dropped because it was daunting, but Malone makes it doable. He can be funny, he's very fair, and does his best to make material understandable. There are quizzes each week (same with most stats classes so don't judge based on that), standard tests. The catch: he takes an eternity to grade.

If you go to class, this won't be a difficult class. He is an amazing professor that is willing to help you and make sure that you understand the material. He gets that this is a general class and you may not be that good at math, and he's extremely willing to work with you in order to get you the grade that you want. Take his class!

Wonderful teacher. Hilarious and makes stats class fun. Easy grader and always willing to answer any questions, super dry and sarcastic but funny. Definitely recommend taking him if you have to take stats.
