Comment:

Took a hybrid with him for Fin. Accnt. and enjoyed it. With hybrids you kinda have to teach yourself 20-50% of the material in that theres only a weekly 2 hour class that makes it not easy to absorb all the material. Uses Wileyplus for homework that is due each week, 4 questions worth one point each for 12 weeks but its graded out of 40 to curve it

Not good but not bad either. He basically gifts you 40% of your grade as long as you do your HW. You get 3 chances at each problem. You just need to worry about the test which are 60% of your grade. There are 5 tests and he drops the lowest of your first three. Read the book and you'll be fine on the tests. The test are 50 MC each.

Loved taking this class online. Do all the homework assignments, it's 40% of your grade and not difficult to get full credit for them. The other 60% is based on four exams and one final. He drops the lowest grade between the first three exams. Read the material and you'll be okay. Going to take him again this summer for Managerial Accounting.

The first three tests are on moodle for hybrid. It says it is open two days, but if you want to take the test Fri. you have to email him saying why you have to take it Friday and not Thursday. So stupid. Why have the test open two days if you don't have the option of taking it on both days without a reason? Do not take him. You learn nothing

Grading: 40% wileyPlus hw. 60% tests (I think there were 4). Do hw, if you dont get it, click link that says explain this to me and it shows a video of the EXACT same problem just with dif numbers. you get three tries to submit correctly. If you understnad hw, he only makes you come once a week. Tests arent too hard, just know your stuff.

If you slack off in class do not take him. He will call on you if he sees you're not paying attention. This personally helped me and it made me pay attention the entire class. The tests are hard and the assigned homework is time consuming. If you're willing to learn you will not have a problem.

I don't fully understand why there is so much negativity about this Professor, I thought he was fine. I took his Managerial Accounting class online. Yes, it was hard but that has nothing to do with his teaching skills, accounting is definitely not for everyone especially me but I did pass the class so that should say something. I'd take again!

This professor is the worst ever! His lectures are confusing. He doesn't know how to teach at all. The book is one thing and what he teaches is another. To survive his class you MUST get tutoring after each class to be able to understand. If your major is accounting, after a semester with him you might not want to proceed. He shouldn't be @ Bergen.

This teacher is good as a person not as a teacher. He is really bad at teaching, you will stay for hours without understanding a single word from him. I am an accounting major and i lost interest in accounting because of him. If you want to take this class be ready to study on your own. I had to go for a tutor 2 times a week to survive.

Professor Mayer wants you to succeed. He won't hand-hold you, but he is there to offer support & responds quickly with help outside of the classroom. He lets you bring a page of notes for each test, but read the chapter & take notes to fully comprehend the subject before then. His lectures help to elaborate on trickier elements. Lazy? Don't bother.

I dont know why there is so much negativity about this teacher, but i should say that i really liked his class. If you work and read the book, you will be fine. Dont expect him to explain you everything in accounting. He has only 4 months to cover the whole book!You have to study yourself.Easy class, very helpful teacher. I strongly recommend him.

This professor really isn't helpful at all. He says one thing and the book says another, like what do you want me to focus is on more you or the book? I mean I like accounting but with this professor I'm slowly losing interest ad that's not a good thing. But if you want to give it a try by all means be my guess. Everyone is different!

I took this class online. If you ask him questions he reponds rather quickly, he makes himself available even to call him. He gives extra credit just make sure you ask in the beginning of the semester. If you work hard and read the material you will do just fine. His test are a little tricky but not impossible.

I think Professor Mayer is great.The only thing you need to do is to read because you get exactly what matches the effort you put in the course. There are about 12 Assignments which are fair taken after every Chapter, you get 3 chances on each assignment & the computer tells you where you are wrong. 4 tests and you drop your lowest& then final test

Took this as an online course. Don't recommend Accounting as an online course. This class should B taken physically @ school. Many ?'s may arise but he would like 4 U 2 post as the next classmate may have the same ?. Problem is, every 1 has a diff learning capacity & may need further explaining as in my case. Seems respectful towards his students.

Took this ONLINE class & received my very first C, drop'd GPA dwn but I c/n complain b/c there were hw assngmnts missed b4 realizing it was a major part of the grade- 40%. Do the hw and study for exams & u'll do fine. Also, I asked for extra credit & b/c I said I wanted extra points towards final grade he denied me the opportunity. Not cool!
