Chris is the best! He makes you a better writer. He respects all students, but he does not show pity for your mistakes. Although he comes off intimidating, he is a kind and funny guy who cares for his students. Every class you will write a paper, and once a week you will have a current event quiz (tip:get together with classmates to discuss CE)

Chris is a fantastic professor. My writing improved significantly, and I generally had a pretty good time in class. There are writing assignments every day, which can get annoying, but since there are so many, you can definitely make some bad grades and be okay. HIGHLY recommend taking 153 with Chris

Chris is a fantastic professor. He's pretty funny and obviously has a passion for what he teaches and does for a living. This class is all about dotting your i's and crossing your t's. Do that, and you'll do great. I always looked forward to coming to MEJO 153, I don't even want to go into reporting.

MEJO 153 with Chris was the first class I ever walked into as a college student. From the moment I became one of his students he never failed to make me feel supported. However, it is important to understand that he gives no lee way with the grades. You will work for what you get in his class but you're gonna love it.

Chris is an amazing teacher. Even though I had the class at 8 a.m. and it lasts 2.5 hours, he always makes it super engaging and fun. He is also lenient about being late just so long as you show up. The stories you write in class are usually pretty fun too. No matter your experience level Chris will make you a better writer. Take this class!!!

Chris is a extremely tough grader, but he whips you into shape for the J-School. If you follow his directions, you'll learn a whole lot, but you'll likely take some grade hits in the process. Very difficult to get an A in the class, but doable. A B is most likely if you work hard and listen to him. The class was a blast to be in every day.

Chris is the reason I chose to major in journalism. He's an awesome professor and really cares about his students. His class definitely isn't easy, but he's a fair grader and I've become a much better writer thanks to him. He's really helpful, and if I could take every JOMC class with him I would.

Best professor I've had in the J-School. His knowledge comes from his vast experience in the journalism field. Has great connections. Wouldn't think twice about it!

Can't believe anyone hasn't rated him yet for this class. Business Reporting is the best class I took at UNC, and I had little interest in the topic before. Made it fun and enjoyable.

If you have to live through 53, take it with Roush! He grades harshly, but you know exactly what to expect with each assignment. If you come to every class and do the extra credit, you'll be fine. He's got some good stories and he will keep you interested in the material.

He's a great teacher and very personable. The class is very hard depending on how well your knowledge of grammer and punctuation are. AP style is totally different and he knows his stuff so there are no "freebie" mistakes.

The J-school needs more professors like him. Too many of them have gotten old and forgotten what it was like to write for a living. He's a stickler for AP style and grammar though.
