I performed in Mr. Wickes's very first Wind Emsemble at LSU. Before that fall, I played under the prior band director at LSU as well as under another famous band director at another large university in Louisiana and none of them compared to this teacher. I learned so much about phrasing just by watching Mr. Wickes conduct. He is the best!

Only the most serious-minded students will truly appreciate Mr. Wickes. As a former student I must to say I owe a huge amount of my success to him. I became a better musician, conductor & teacher because of my time with him at LSU wit him. Don't take things personally! He probably will be the best band director you will ever have!
