I've taken Slichta for almost all of my English classes, and he was amazing! He was a little bit tough, but as long as you're listening and participating in the class then you shouldn't have a problem. He's very nice and easy to talk to if you're having a hard time. I always recommend him to other students.

I feel as a teacher he could honestly do more. Yeah he's cool and chill but that doesn't make him a good teacher. Teach us something!! No tests and we rarely touch the book. We take no notes as he is not so helpful. He always changes what he wants on his papers and is hardly clear! If you actually want to learn don't take him!

He is a hard grader which is why I took his class, but he didn't teach. Literally handed the class our research paper 2 weeks late and that was it. Had to figure it out on my own. Used the book for the first 2 weeks of class and that was it. He is funny and he will take the time to sit with you and explain, I just wish he actually taught me.

Did not enjoy this class one bit. Everyone in my class complained of how hard of a grader he was and that we did not do any work. Bought a notebook for no reason, was never used. Textbook was never opened from the box. HORRIBLE TEACHER! Do not, I REPEAT, do not take this course for ENG 101!

He made English 101 painless! I took it over the summer and was worried I would be swamped with work. Surprisingly, it was pretty easy. He gives good feedback, and there weren't too many assignments. I think I am a stronger writer because of him. If you get the chance, take his class.

Had a different ENG 101 professor before this one. She was super hard & was failing her class. Had to take Developmental Writing with Slichta. He was AMAZING. He made me understand how to write an affective essay. He made sense of everything. English is not my thing but he made everything click in my head. Taking him now for 101. Plus he is HOT :)

By far the best teacher i have ever had! Spoke clearly about everything, went over everything, very helpful. I am taking another class with him right now and also plan on taking another. Very clever man, also has a very interesting background if he decides to tell your class about it one day. One of the nicest guys i have ever met. Take him!

Great professor, had a great sense of humor and made the class interesting. The novels were discussed in great detail. Quizzes and final were open book, so as long as you read them, you really couldn't fail. We occasionally got dismissed early, which was a bonus!

This teacher in the beginning seemed so easy he let us out a 15 min early each class and they were only 50 min. long! But in the last 2 weeks of the semester we were hit with two research papers! Plus we all got a D on the midterm because the papers weren't his opinion. Good luck with this one don't be fooled!
