Comment:

Her quizzes and exams are full of grammatical errors. It shows how much time she puts into making her exams. Her questions as you read them are hard to interpret. She uses too many "scenarios" where you decipher what approach she's talking about. The "lectures" if thats what you want to call them don't correlate with her exams. You're on your own.

I do not recommend taking this professor's online classes, especially if you have a restrictive schedule like I do. I take online classes because I have 2 jobs and I need to be able to do coursework on the time that I do have, but her many assignments, quizzes and exams are always due at 5 PM, rather than at midnight like most professors.

I enjoyed her class so much! She engages the class and makes material more fun. Her class wasn't the easiest as her exams were tough even though all M/C. You must read the book to do well on exams on not rely only on PPT slides. HW is easy, but you must be present in class to get the info from her. The paper was easy and she gives you 2 attempts.

Professor Ake was a joy, although I was expecting another professor, I got her instead and she was great! Her lectures consisted of power points, which are easy to follow % you can print them to be able to write side notes on them. There are a couple papers, but are! Her tests are extremely difficult, but if you go to class, you'll get a good grade

Exams are straightforward from lecture and powerpoint slides. It is a very passable class. She is a wonderful professor and really cares about her student success. 3 Exam's, offers Extra credit and 1 mini research paper.

Handful of assignments and three tests total. Professor Ake is a wonderful instructor. She's absolutely inspirational making the class super fun. Tests are hard, but if you pay attention in class and study directly from her PowerPoint slides, you should be fine. Dont be afraid to go to office hours. She's even more helpful there

Such a great and hands on teacher. If you need help, she is there to give it to you. Very kind and easy to talk to. Her lectures are very straight forward and so are her exams. 3 exams and you have a few writing assignments. I would definitely recommend taking her class. She made me fall more in love with abnormal psych.

Christy is a good teacher. Lectures/powerpoint contained a lot of info but everything you need to know is in the book, so read because test material is based heavily on it. There is a paper, some fairly easy homework assignments, and a few quizzes so you may want to show up to class. Material is interesting enough so you will want to learn!

Amazing professor! I would recommend either bringing a laptop to class or printing out the lecture notes prior to class because she moves FAST and it's difficult to keep up when handwriting. As long as you study (and I mean study) the notes AND the text book, the tests are pretty straightforward. Papers and and research assignments were easy A's.

Christy is really nice and approachable. She definitely made this class challenging for me. She gives easy homework every week or every other week. You have to do 2 "big" paper assignments. I believe there was a total of 4 or 5 pop quizzes the whole semester and the exams are challenging. You need to buy the book, read powerpoints &you'll pass.

Ake was a great option for a 101 because she has so much experience in the field and great stories. She really is a fabulous professor and seems to genuinely care about the students. Best thing to do is to study really hard from the book for the tests. There are pop quizzes but she usually warns you a bit ahead of time, printing her lectures helps

This class was very interesting and the professor told so many interesting stories but her tests were extremely hard for me. I studied for days and they were always difficult for me so prepare to study hard for the tests. While she was a good professor, I would not recommend this class to non psychology majors like myself.

She's fantastic. I took her for psych 101, I loved going every week. Hardly assigns homework or papers, so do the few assignments there are and really listen to her lectures and you'll do just fine. She was interesting, told great stories, and told you everything you need to know on the test. I'm taking more of her classes in the future.

Loved Prof Ake, took this class Thursday night and she made the lectures very interesting. If I took this class as a freshman I might of majored in Psychology. I even want her as my therapist, amazing person.
