I enjoyed the class first couple but his accent was too hard to understand after awhile. The quizzes are very hard and never what you expect. Not helpful at office hours. Class is very boring and everyone tends to zone out.

Let me tell you about this teacher. I have hated very few profs at HPU, but this man is belting and sexist. He has purposefully called me out in front of the whole class to tell i did my project wrong and need to change aspects of it. He does this a lot. This man constantly brings up controversial topics that do not need to be talked about. DROP!

hardest class I've ever taken. he was very hard to understand and I rarely understood what he was saying. His PowerPoints were very skin and bones and lectures were the main part of his class. there are a few essays that he made my class turn in outside of class, however he wasn't in his office when I went (he failed my paper after I explained.)

Don't take his classes if you don't want to work. That said, he's a very passionate professor, and I loved his Chinese history class. I didn't find it difficult, though it did require a decent amount of work.

Very hard class and super boring. Teacher is okay. He is Chinese which can be kind of funny when he talks. Fun to listen to talk but the class is hard and boring. The only thing I learned in this class is how to fake being sick to get out of a presentation.

His lectures are super boring and it's really hard to pay attention to him when he speaks. He makes us read A LOT outside of class and if you don't read you're screwed. I don't reccomend this course or professor at all.

Dr. Deng is one of my favorite professors at this university. I've taken many of his classes. He's very nice. He'll assign more work and reading for his lower level courses, expecting more self-study from his higher level students, but it's worth it. If you're not a history major, though, you won't completely understand everything he talks about,

A lot of people say he is hard to understand but I don't feel like that's the case. He's a very nice guy and is reasonable with the work he assigns. The quizzes aren't bad if you do the study questions. I would recommend him to people.

the lectures are long and boring, it is really hard to stay focused during them. There is alot of reading from the textbook and his quizzes are not so easy. You can study from the book as much as possible but sometimes you still won't know the answer on the quiz. The tests are questions from the quizzes so they are fairly easy, plus take home essay

Only tests are the midterms, and they're really easy. Quizzes are easy as well. Don't skimp out on his essays though, he can catch every issue. Really great professor.

If you want an easy class to breeze by for the semester, do not take this class!!! You have to read constantly (1 to 2 chapters every time you show up). Also the quizzes and tests are impossible. He's a nice guy, but an impossible class. If you really want a tough challenge take him. If you want an easy class don't.

This class involves a lot of reading. It is hard to stay focus in his lectures. But for his intro class he gives us study questions to go by to prepare us for the quizzes, which is extremely helpful. But I would not recommend taking the course for fun.

Peng has such a bad rep on here. His lectures are long yes, but his accent is not hard to understand. It is only hard to pay attention, though I was able to keep up in the reading (through cram effort) and pull an 86 out on the midterm. It's hard, but not by any means impossible. It's easy to fall behind in the reading, but heyit's a college class.

He's a really nice guy, but slightly difficult to understand. He knows a lot about the material he teaches, but doesn't really relay the information well. Be prepared to read a chapter or two before going to every class as he expects. If you don't you'll wind up writing a paper on stuff from five chapters back at midnight like me right now.

This professor was not only boring...but he is a terrible teacher. He does not care how you are doing in the class---and grades based on how much he likes you. The only people in his class that liked him were the ones who had him for easy 101 classes---or ones that studied abroad with him. He sucks. Avoid at all cost.
