Comment:

Very wise and knows a lot about the subject. However, does not talk about it AT ALL just talks about his political experiences. Always showed up late and occassionally ended class late. EASIEST A you'll ever get just for showing up.

I'm pretty sure he's retiring, which is a very good thing. He seems like he used to be a very good teacher but those days are over. Im intersted in polysci but learned very little. He did share some interesting info and seemed to care about his students. but he seems somewhat mentally unstable now, mostly ranting and repeating the same each day.

A great Professor. He does talk a lot, but just pay attention. He will tell you what chapters to study, so just read them and watch CNN, you will be fine. Do field and voluntary work, he approves most voluntary an field work. I passed the class with an A, because I payed attention, read, and volunteered. BE A PRO-ACTIVE STUDENT!

What is everyone talking about??? This guy is absolutely terrible. He's not a professor, he's more a deliruous and ranting old man. HE DOES NOT TEACH. If you want an easy A without learning anything then he's your man. If you're a person of substance and are actually interested in learning something then avoid him at all costs!

This guy missed 2 months of class in Fall 07. Talked about nothing when he was there and gave the midterm with 3 weeks left, and the final on the last day. Both were given with 30 minutes left to take the actual exams. DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS GUY, unless you want to not show up, only for exams and get a passing grade of C or something.

He is a very nice teacher. But unfortunately I was very disappointed by his class. I was hoping that I'd learn a little bit of political science but he didn't teach us anything. Instead he was late to class, didn't turn in our tests on time, and on test days he would lecture for an hour and only give us 30 min of class time to finish our exams.

He'll say "on everything weve covered" which sucks because we dont cover anything! SO ask what chapters and study on your own!youll have to do a lot of hours of political field work too.

I'm currently taking Poli Sci 1 with dirks, and I gotta say... This class is hella eazy unless your the kinda person who needs the book handfed to them. As long as you read the material, do 6 weak ass hours of "lab" work this class is a breeze. Plus this**** is mad interesting. It'll have you all thinking and****. srsly.

OMG if you do not have the patience, then do not take Dirks. He was only in our class one day and UGH!!!! He went on leave and we had 2 other subs. We petitioned to keep Romano after half way through the semester. Plus Dirks makes you do community service in order to maintain your grade.
