Cindy was a very cool professor. I was actually a bit scared of her at the beginning of the semester, but after the first project, I could tell that she was there to help and really gave strong constructive criticism to help you in the future. It really helps to get to know her as well, she really means well and wants to see you improve.

She's chooses pretty early on who she likes and doesn't like, so don't get on her bad side or else she'll criticize the hell out of your work. Projects aren't hard at all though. And if they are, then design clearly isn't for you. The menial chapter reviews are a little condescending, but it's an easy class.

Be prepared to dedicate MOST of your free time to this course. Killion is definitely a knowledgeable prof whose class discussions are very interesting and valuable. She assigns a lot of daily reading and makes a ridiculous # of different assignments/stories/quizzes due each class period. Overall too much is expected of this intro level requirement.

Wonderful professor, any mcomm student should take her for the experience and learning capacity. Textbooks and readings are hard, but worth the long reads... Opens a student's eyes to what the media really portrays about women and minorities. Highly reccommend!

Extremely helpful if you ask for her help. Assigns a lot of reading, pretty much every day and MANY papers. She preaches thinking before responding in discussions but has her own prethought opinion on almost everything-can get defensive when you don't agree with her point of view. Good class to take for hard work, finding yourself & real thinking.

I had Cindy as a prof for a topics biology and gender course, and she was both knowledgeable and interesting. She is one of the nicest professors I have ever had, and she is always very clear in her expectations. She teaches well, is willing to listen, and is completely approachable. Take her if you can!

I though Cindy was a fantastic teacher. I would like to say though that you should not judge someone on there looks as one user commented and whether she is a lesbian or not that does not make someone a good teacher or not. Obviously you learned nothing in her classes. I learned a lot from Cindy about topics in her class and things in life.

This was by far my favorite class. It is alot of work, but she is a fairly easy grader as long as you tried. I enjoyed how it was not a lecture class and we discussed the entire time, it made the class go faster. There are required presentations that you have to go to , but they aren't bad and I enjoyed them. I would take her for PPG.
