I had her for a Shakespeare themed first-year seminar. She crammed too many plays into a semester, and only held discussions about irrelevant parts of each play. She's pretty boring and let discussions get off topic frequently. She's a tough grader, and it's almost impossible to get an 'A' on any written papers.

Packs way too much material into a semester. Curriculum seems more designated for middle school/high school students. Nice lady, but expects way too much. 4 small papers, 3 big papers, quizzes (Sometimes unannounced), and lots of reading material. I wouldn't recommend her if you plan to take more than 3 classes.

If you do not give her what you want, you are going to get a bad grade. Go to her office hours, they really help, seriously, go. Class goes by fast. Essay topics are very difficult because one again, if you don't give her what she wants to hear, you will get a bad grade.

FOR HONORS STUDENTS. Nice lady but a lot of reading. Tests are fairly easy if you pay attention in class. Papers, however, I struggled with and I consider myself an average paper-writer. As a Business major I don’t see the point in the Honors Triple and I wouldn’t recommend it to others who are interested.

My first class with Dr. Busse was her first class at LaSalle. I did poorly, but that's because I was a poor student. A couple years later, I took another of her classes and excelled. Dr. Busse is relatively young and extremely talented. She also genuinely cares about her students, although you need to demonstrate effort.

I had Dr.Busse for English 108 in the past. She refers to the readings she assigns so make sure you read it all. I personally hated her class. I thought the topics were boring and even when you answer all of the rubric requirements, she expects things that werent even on there, making it hard to receive an A. All in all ... i dont recommend her.

I had Dr. Busse for 4 classes too. She's an awesome teacher and is always there for her students...even if you don't have her for that semester. She is what La Salle is about - student/teacher relationship. She really cares that her students do well. If you are willing to learn - she will teach. She'll help improve writing skills. Bring your papers to her...she loves to see effort and enthusiasm. I would always take a class with her.

Not a bad class to be in, but she's a real hard grader on the three major papers. DEFINITELY meet with her before handing in papers, shes very helpful! Lots of reading, can be hard to keep up. But exercises and quizzes help boost your grade

I've had Dr. Busse for 4 classes so far! She has helped me develop my writing skills SO much in the past two years... I'm actually taking another 300 or 400 level class with her next semester just because she is a great teacher. If anyone can help your writing, it's her!

She's a really nice person & very clear on what she teaches. She's big on inclass discussion & group work, which I'm not a fan of. She pays attention to way too much detail in the novels/plays that you read. Plan on doing alot of reading, 3papers, quizzes every other week, and 5 short papers.
