Comment:

She is a sweetheart. If you aren't passionate about art you may get bored, but if you are then you're in for a good time. Her lectures are mostly verbal with very little on the powerpoint, just the pieces of art being discussed. Exams are essays so it is writing heavy. Classes are small so she is very personable and recognizes her past students.

If you like art history then you will enjoy her, but do not take a class with her if you aren't a complete art history nerd. She talks and talks and talks and does not the engage the class whatsoever. She doesn't put up any notes so you are just guessing whats important, doesn't follow the textbook. None of her class material is relevant either

Love her! She is so kind and genuine! Most definitely educated and passionate in the art history field! This was by far the easiest class to attend because I actually wanted to go! Very compelling and interesting classes! If you're interested in art would definitely recommend her class!! She's hilarious too!!

Labrecque will always be a great prof. If you are at all interested in Art History, take a class with her -- she will make you work for a good grade, but you will learn so much! The more advanced course with her the better. She loves getting to know the class.

Most amazing prof. Her love of art shows, and it makes all the students fall in love with it too. I didn't miss one class, they were too amazing. Best class I have ever taken. She was the reason I changed my degree. An overall amazing woman!!

She gave us a brief tour of the library to better understand how to do our essays, her accent is manageable but for tricky words she spells out on the board, tough marker but is fair

Clare Labrecque was one of the best profs I've had the pleasure of having. So sweet and very clear, does not scoff at any dumb questions...yes there are dumb questions. She is patient and has an obvious passion for art history. Highly recommended.

Claire is a real sweetheart! She is very helpful, funny, and pretty! Her tests are pretty hard! You need to know everything about the assigned works of art! She's really smart, and the class was really interesting. Average-hard marker. Loves talking most about French art/architecture, which is perfect for me. She'll speak in French with you.

Worst teacher I had at U of W. Very boring lectures (unless you love medieval art...that seems to be all that she knows). Hard to understand her accent. Not helpfull at all outside of class (unless you want to look at her stupid pilgrimage trinkets!)

So far, best prof I've had. She's hilarious and very passionate about art! Lectures are based on a slideshow she has prepared every class, therefore the lights are out- careful if you fall asleep easily like me. Accent was fine for me, but speaks quietly sometimes. ALWAYS willing to help a student! Avg/hard marker & textbook use up to student.
