She is not good. Do not take 312 with her unless you have no other option. She stinks. Gives a lot of work and wants the papers how she wants them. If you write it your way, she will tell you to change it.

Comment:

I loved Professor McCabe. She is very nice and very lenient most of the time. She makes sure everyone gets the grade they deserve. I took 312 with her and it was A LOT of work, even outside of the class but the course was very informative. If you like to skip class, don't take her. Attendance is mandatory and your grade will decrease if you skip.

Comment:

She's a good professor, but she can be disorganized. However, whenever the class was confused due to her disorganization, she would give credit or allow extra time for papers. Although we wrote a paper every week, the majority of those papers were graded on completion. I got an easy A just by doing the work.

Comment:

Prof. McCabe is awesome. I took her eng110 course and it was 1.5 page journals every week, 2 8-10 page research paper which does not need to be treated very seriously, and a final presentation. Lectures were okay, very helpful and gives good feedback. Easy grader and is very understanding. If you do the work on time, you'll pass easily.

Comment:

I had McCabe for ENGL Honors. She is a very likable professor. We had 10 1.5 page journals, an 8 page research paper, and a 4 page final. When you discuss topics, pick a topic she seems interested in because I guarantee you will get a better grade. She often makes changes to the assignments which can throw you off, but overall she's great.

McCabe loves what she teaches but she often is disorganized and does not follow the syllabus at all. She doesn't fully explain assignments. She is nice, but that doesn't make up for the constant confusion. However, there are a bunch of field trips and outside of the classroom events which were cool and helped make the class more enjoyable.

McCabe runs this class like the inane high school classes I thought I had left behind. She doesn't fully explain any of her assignments, and you may as well throw out your syllabus because she doesn't follow it. The assignments are largely pointless and she is super strict about aspects that don't really matter.

Not sure why Professor McCabe doesn't have better ratings. I was worried going into the class because of the ratings I saw on here but I ended up really enjoying her as a teacher. Not the easiest grader but cares about students who try to improve. Journals once in a while that she gives you a 100 for as long as you hand them in.

Its possible to get a good grade in this class but you will be 100% happier and a million times less stressed if you take E110 with another teacher. Unnecessary amounts of work, hard grading, confusing, gives last minute assignments. You'll get way more work than anyone else.

McCabe does not teach material well at all. Picks favorites, bias towards certain topics, and grades very harshly. There are many better E110 teachers. Do not take her unless you're looking for a very difficult english class.

Fairly easy class. She assigns 10 2 page assignments just for credit and then there are 3 papers, 2 small one big. The research paper is definitely a lot of work but she gives a lot of time to do it. She definitely has some bias so try to pick topics that she would agree with. overall fairly easy class

Assignments are unclear. Does not follow syllabus. Does not answer emails. Does not return papers in a timely manner so students cant improve. When you do get your paper back, good luck reading the corrections because her handwriting is awful. Thinks a "C" is a good grade. There are much easier ENGL110 teachers. Avoid her.

McCabe gives a pretty good amount of writing, so don't expect to have just a few easy papers. She's a tough grader but she's fair and willing to work with you. I personally love her and think she's a great lady, but it's not the easiest class ever.

You have to write alot more than other 110 classes but it's not very hard. Most of it is 12 1.5 page reflections. You also have a 4 page paper and an 8 pager. She grades fairly easy. Class is laid back and relaxing. End of year project was unclear but not that bad. I hate english more than anything and got an A-

She's very nice and understanding. The assignments are pretty easy and short (1 page max) except the final report. It's a service learning project for half the semester. If you divide the work up and stay on top of it it's not that bad.

Her class is a lot harder than a lot of other 110 teachers. The final project took a lot of time and her directions were not clear at all. Make sure you take advantage of getting your papers reviewed in the writing center for free. They can also let the teachers know that you went and the teacher probably give you a better grade.
