By the end, I was surprised by how much I'd learned because this course was so easy throughout. Attendance is required, but you don't need to take notes. Reading is assigned, but only the printouts are important. I wouldn't buy the book over again because I never used it. A nice class, more interesting and practical than it first appears.

One of my favorite classes I took first semester. Super easy- the power points most of the information (you dont really have to take notes). lots of reading, but the tests are easy.she is really nice, funny, and will always help you with anything, she even has AIM so we can contact her without coming to office hours. Definitely take this class!

She likes joking around in class a little too much. Overall nice lady though. Classes are often boring but easy.

i took this class because it seemed interesting. i loved it. the powerpoints are all the information you need. you don't even need to take notes. just skim the "course pack" articles when they're assigned. the tests are pretty easy and you watch a few really long videos. she's pretty funny, too. i did the homework everyday before class.

I had no interest in linguistics whatsoever. My advisor told me to take this class to fulfill my requirement because she heard it was a really good class. To my surprise, Im now thinking about minoring in linguistics because of her class! Claire is awesome..and she has everything readily accessible on courseweb for you.

I didn't like her at first, but Claire is a super-nice lady, and very technology-friendly! she uses courseweb and puts up all the powerpoints from each class, but certain things she only tells the people in class. do all the readings and take some notes and read powerpoints and grades come easy. it was a good class, and Claire is very accessible!

Claire is wonderful and I would take a class of hers again in a heartbeat. She is fair with grades and is always available for outside help if you need it. The material is easy and tests are pretty straight foward. Final exam was a breeze.

She was the easiest professor in the world! Class was incredibly boring. I had to drag myself out of bed for it everyday! She takes attendance and bases your grade partially off of that so don't miss often, even though she posts everything online anyway!

SOOOO BORING!!! A sweet old lady, but she'll lecture for 2.5 hours on absolutely nothing, and then give tests that demand close memorization. If you can print powerpoint notes and regurgitate information, it's an easy A

Aspects of Language is a cake walk, and Claire is cool. The lectures can get long if it's a night class, but she's just a jolly old elf with big goofy glasses that has an odd love for power point. She teases you affectionately if you sit in the first row.
