There were first-years through seniors in this class, but Prof. R-O managed to meet us on all our respective levels. It's a challenging class, but one that makes you think critically about what's going on outside the classroom. Final was a group project paper, collaborative in the way transnat'l feminisms are. Highly recommend this class.

Before signing up for this class, I talked with Prof. Román-Odio and told her I was worried because I'd never studied poetry before. She said, "Don't worry, I'll teach you well." I can confidently say that I'm walking away from this class feeling like I can talk about poems! She's tough because she wants you to be your best.

Prof. Roman-Odio was my advisor and continues to be a mentor as I begin a doctorate prgm. She is incredibly dedicated to students and works tirelessly to expand Latinao scholarship, specifically Chicanao studies, at Kenyon. Her courses are rigorous, intellectually stimulating and approach important issues from interdisciplinary perspectives.

Professor Román-Odio has been one of my favorite professors at Kenyon. She is always willing to help. The best part about her is she wont let you settle with a boring thesis. When you write a paper for her class she forces you to move beyond the text and formulate an interesting thesis that doesn't simply state what is in the text.

Professor Roman-Odio is one of the best professors I had at Kenyon. She is always honest and genuine, which comes off as intimidating at first, but she is extremely caring. I took multiple classes with her and she was my first-reader for my senior exercise. She gives useful feedback on papers and I always left her classes feeling enlightened.

I love Clara. She is honestly one of the sweetest professors I've met here. She would constantly gush about how wonderful (estupendo) we all were and always let us sing on Fridays. The class was pretty easy and overall a great review of grammar. I enjoyed the stories we read and the movies we watched.

Sra Roman-Odio is easily the best professor I had in my 9 year college/graduate career. She is definately demanding, but in a way that makes you want more out of yourself. Sure she's funny and painfully adorable, but I most remember how much she loved to teach and help students learn. In sum I developed a love for poetry because of her class.
