Class is graded by four tests and the final. However, he curves each test. This is a hard class. He takes a class periods to go over each section, then a day or two to work through homework questions before the test. The tests are HARD. Do the homework and go to tutoring. Ask questions and he will help. The final is comprehensive and made me cry.

I had him for linear algebra Fall 2017. He was alright. The only thing that counts are midterm and final, that is it. Wish the homework could have counted. Barely passed with a C.

He is a great all around guy and will crack you up during lecture. He is super knowledgeable and if you do your homework which is optional you will easily pass. If you have a question he will go out of his way to answer it as long as you ask. He curves heavily and is a very fair grader. The people that have problems did not put in the time.

I have Dr. Brooks for MTH 331 and he's alright I guess. The only tests in this class are a midterm and final, and he gives homework assignments for each section covered, so best thing to do good on his exams is to practice, practice, practice.

Your grade only comes from 4 tests & the final. But he drops the lowest test grade at the end of the semester. His tests are pretty hard, but he curves them like crazy. (I've had 60s scaled to Bs) Also his class runs over a lot, so don't schedule anything immediately after this class.

Interesting and entertaining professor, but the subject was very vague and confusing. He would help if you needed, but in his own way. Took a lot of work and mental effort, but then again it is math class. Overall, I enjoyed Dr. Brooks teaching style.

Very good teacher but tests can hard to finish in time given. Interesting factoids given in class and really personable professor.

Crazy cool dude, fun to joke around with, doesn't get offended or angry when you mess with him or carry on a bit. Very good at teaching, definitely takes time to break concepts down. THE DOWN SIDE- the ONLY grades for the class are his tests, which are ridiculously hard. VERY generous with curving grades, he curved my 38% on a test to a C.

Clayton Brooks is a very interesting individual. He refuses to give a formula sheet for exams, citing that "you don't have to memorize the formulas if you understand the concepts behind them". However, at times, due to time constraints, he rushes through things. As a person, he is hilarious and relates very well to students. HW not taken up

A great professor for engineering majors, would not recommend for someone not interested in the whys and hows of calculus. Overall very helpful, very clear, and very funny. Encourages participation in class. I wouldn't take him again, but I definitely enjoyed the experience. Study a lot.

Fantastic professor, if given the option to take a class he teaches, do it. If you hate math he is the man for you. If you love it, he's your guy as well. Can't go wrong with Clayton Brooks

This class is hard. He explains concepts and ideas which is great for engineer majors. The tests are very hard and the only grades for the class. Half of every text is without a calculator (so you have to know what you are doing). I should have failed this class, but he is a great professor and curved the grades. I recommend him if you like math.

I liked Dr. Brooks! He is a very funny guy; I laughed at his jokes everyday. He scales the tests. Tests are his only grades he gives. He takes awhile to grade them. It takes him two to three weeks to grade exams. He goes into great detail how to do the problems. Overall this course was great! I'd suggest him.

Fairly difficult class, but he was an amazing teacher. His lecture notes were more centered around the concept. Assigned homework for every section, but just do it and he'll answer any question you have.

Dr. Brooks is one of the best calc professors. He goes over any homework questions you have and takes a day or two before each test to go over any questions you have. Do the homework and take notes, you'll easily pass and probably get an A or B!

Don't take this professor if you aren't strong in math. He doesn't give any other grades but tests. He does curve the tests, but they have things on it that he didn't go over in class. He seems like a nice guy, but the class was so boring. He also often focuses on things we aren't even tested on. I say to take someone else.

The absolute best math teacher (possibly best teacher in general) I have ever had the pleasure of having. Yes, his tests can be difficult, but he gives partial credit and curves! He doesn't just want you to memorize formulas, he wants you to understand the concepts behind them making it much easier to remember. GREAT teacher, highly recommended! :)
