Professor Ronan is a very nice guy outside of the classroom, but not a good teacher! He knows his stuff but made grading extremely unclear, gave grades that didn't make sense and expected everyone to write papers that only reflected his opinion. I hated this class. Attendance was mandatory but lectures were pointless and boring. 3 test and 2 essays

He doesn't give an efficient amount of notes, goes off on tangents all the time, is not fair, talks bad about stundents to his TA in front of them as if they aren't there. He is old, senial, and cinical and should retire. DO NOT TAKE HIM! If at all possible you should avoid him.

Bad professor, one of the worst I've had at Texas State. Vague lectures, disorganied thoughts and an ever-changing syllabus made the class frustrating. However, the reading selections were excellent. Keep up with the reading and you're guranteed a B, but getting an A would probably be more luck than a relfection of your academic prowess.

This guy is extremely full of himself. The only way to make a good grade in his class is to placate to him....agree with what he says and dont question him. He WILL NOT go out of his way to help a student, and when He did for me he was a big jerk about it. Mya advice to you is to avoid his class at all cost...and if you absolutely gotta take his class be sure to bring some chap stick....cuz your lips are going to be chapped.

Horrible really! Extremely unorganized, goes off on tangents, his only requirement for essays is that they have to be interesting. Very vague. Not helpful, even when I went in on one-on-one. Try not to take his class. I was the only one of 25 in my 1310 to make an A I worked my ass off in his and only got a B. Could never figure out what he wanted.
