Very very hard grader. He expects you to know as much as he does, which is why you have to do an absurd amount of research if you want a good grade on your papers. Some of the information he says is very questionable too. Granted he's a historian (self proclaimed) but I start to question information the general populace has rarely ever heard of.

Professor claims the class is hard at the onset of the class, but you will soon realise that the course IS hard, but for no reason. Course material is very lacking in direction, and more often than not he will simply tell you to write about a subject but not how or why. Afterwards, many proceed to get very low grades. I wonder why.

He isn't too tough of a grader he just wants everyone to do their best. He is really smart and funny too! I would definitely recommend him as a professor and I actually want to take another class with him. The only thing is that he is old school when it comes to lecturing but it actually made me pay attention more.

He is incredibly rude and condescending, and his helpful suggestions are contradictory and make no sense. He has anger problems and has no idea how to treat let alone engage his students. I would advise everyone to stay away from him if they possibly can.

Professor Hood is an amazing professor. He is not easy by any means and challenges you in every way he can.. however he does it with the good intentions.. he wants you to learn something. When you get a good grade in his class it seriously means you earned it. Great professor. Hard class. But you will take a lot away from it.

I chose this intro history class thinking it would be an easy GPA booster..I was wrong. It was one of my harder classes, but also by the end one of my favorites. Hood is more fair than many of these reviews say. He expects a lot from his students but you will take something away from this class. He is old school, all lecturing, but it is tolerable.

I started out liking this guy but I've changed my mind. He plays favorites, is condescending and rude to the rest of us, and is completely arbitrary when grading assignments. I revised a major paper as per his directions and then he marked me down for making the changes he told me to make! Avoid this professor. Believe me, I wish I had.

I had heard some bad things about Hood and was nervous about taking his class. Surprisingly I ended up liking him. He rolls old school though, so be prepared for a challenge. He's a tough grader, demands a lot from students and won't tolerate laziness. Nothing wrong with that and my B+ means more to me than most of the A's I've gotten.

very arrogant. I am history major and my first class with him was like hell. He wouldnt even allow students to go to the bathroom in an hour and 1/2 class. Also, he does not provide sources for the "facts" he states to the class. Many if these facts, figures, and especially dates, are incorrect. an honest sugesstion: dont take any of his classes.

Prof. Hood is an amazing guy. He is always willing to help you with anything, even when you aren't in his class anymore. This is without a doubt one of the hardest classes I took, but worth it because of how great he was. Just make sure to get on his good side, and be nice!

Prof. Hoos is one of the best teachers I have ever known. He sets his standards high as he should and expects nothing less than 100 percent. At the college level, there should be more prof. like prof. hood. You can really only benefit from taking his classes.
