You must attend every lecture in order to get a good grade in his class. He's knowledgeable and passionate about physics. Refer to his lectures online because his handwriting can be difficult to read and he skips algebraic steps. Test are fair and final was hard so study and go to tutoring.

Comment:

His lectures are extremely entertaining and hilarious. Pay attention to every detail b/c it may pop up on the quizzes. Quizzes have a twist so you have to really think critically as well as know the material really well. Do the homework, attend AEWs, and READ THE BOOK. Self-taught class. Final was a challenge. WORK UR ASS OFF FOR THIS CLASS.

The class itself consists of a very boring lecture and long labs. You must show up to class for the labs and homework or else you will not have the best grade. This class is hard for no reason! The final is 84 questions, no study guide! I thought this class was very hard. Just my opinion! Professor Poe is super nice though!

Comment:

Professor Poe is such a pleasure to learn from because he is so passionate about physics and space. He drops 2 out of the 6 tests, which is great. On his tests, he does ask questions that you've never heard before so you have to think critically and you can't rely on memorizing processes, which can be hard. Great guy though!

Lectures are kind of long, but interesting! There are many labs so make sure you go to class. 6 quizzes which are used for the final. He drops 2 quizzes and 2 labs. He goes over everything pretty quickly so ask him if you need help (especially for the homework). Easy class, but you do have to pay attention.

He doesn't penalize you for attendance but his class consists of labs so you do need to attend class, he gives out hw in class too. I enjoyed his class but sometimes he scatters information that I misinterpreted him a few times or overlooked one concept and it screwed w/ my lab but overall he is good and simple. Simply do your work.

He is a great teacher but talks a lot when it's lecture day which is boring. Do the labs, pass the quizzes and HW and you will get a good grade. He drops 2 quizzes out of 6 and drops 2 labs. There are no midterms and it's about 25 questions each quiz and 1 final. Everything that will be in the final is in the 6 quizzes.

Took his Astro course with lab and oh man! Learned so much while not stressing about my grade for a second! Super chill and fun guy, really cares about his students. Definitely a MUST take for that easy A!

This class was one of the most boring class I have taken perhaps because I was not so interested in such a subject. The professor was very humble and nice, however somewhat boring which made many people in the class fall asleep. He is also willing to help out after class The quizzes are not the easiest thing, but if you work hard it is achievable.

Physics 4A. I wish he taught the series. 6 tests, drops lowest 2. No hw, only suggested hw. Labs are due on time. Final is really hard. He curved 5% for our class. My final grade was a 77% but he also curved final grades. I earned a B

Great professor! His test are fair, but the final is really hard. 6 test and drops the lowest 2 (50%), labs (15%), and the final (35%). He curves the final, and the final grade in the class. His handwriting is horrible!!!

Dr. Poe is a great professor none the less, make sure to pay attention in class and ask those around you for notes because his hand writing is hard to understand. Or just look at his online notes he will post up. I came to class every day except the last day, and got a C. If study group is offered. DO IT. Big Curve for final.

Comment:

I previously took physics at a college in the quarter system. Poe's better (and slightly easier). But don't underestimate the class. Physics is tough regardless of what school you are at. His final is insane. Tests are fair. Practice homework. Do labs. Ask questions. Really helpful. Only reason why I lowered his clarity is because of handwriting.

Dr. Poe is a great person all around. Listen to his course lecture and his lecture about life. The man is smart, do not try to fool him. His tests are fair and the final is tough. Comment:

Great teacher, cool guy. Did a great job at walking myself and the other students through the complex world of quantum mechanics. Very knowledgeable on the subject even though it is a rarely taught course and I had to wait a year and a half for them to offer it. Gives good advice and seems to have a huge passion for physics, very inspirational.

His lectures are average. He mainly focuses on proofs and does some examples. If you read ahead before lecture then you will have a clear understanding of what hes talking about. To pass this class, just do as many problems from the book and try to solve the harder problems. Test are average, so study the concepts well.

Comment:

Poe is an amazing professor! But I got my first B in this class because physics is a very difficult course. He gives 6 exams and drops lowest 2. The final was really hard. Make sure you study a lot! His writing is a little messy. Just do a lot of hw problems and you'll get an A or B. Highly Recommended
