Colin is one of the best Math instructors I have ever worked with. His notes are amazing, and he explains the concepts very well. His notes are clear, and they highlight all the common mistakes that students may make during the course. You are expected to work hard in this course if you want to pass or end up with a good grade. My grade for Colin -

Colin's a great prof and is always willing to help. He prints partially completed notes for every class and all the concepts are broken down thoroughly. The course is dense however and requires a lot of work outside of class. His midterms and final were challenging so make sure you understand everything thoroughly.

AMAZING. Colin is the ideal prof for calc. I had him for both Calc I and II and he is amazing!! Answers questions clearly, explain concepts in ways everyone can understand.

FANTASTIC! Take calculus with Colin if you're not good at math. He goes very slow, notes are clear, and I found him helpful. When I asked him questions he was always clear in his answers. Exams are super easy! Didn't need a tutor or anything!!!

HORRIBLE! Do not take calculus with Colin if you're not good at math. He goes very fast, notes are messy, and I did not find him helpful. When I asked him questions he was never clear in his answers-even if I went back. Exams are super tough and vague so I never knew what I was supposed to do. And YES I studied like crazy AND had a tutor.

He goes by the material way too fast. His notes are color coded and like worksheets so you can fill it in as you go in class but they are very brief and do not explain the material well. Although he makes sure that we get the notes if we miss a class which is nice. His tests are pretty easy if you have the textbook and teach yourself the material

His lectures are very easy to follow, had lots of examples, and answered the questions i had. He gives you optional tb questions but you MUST do them to pass the class. I did every question and the ones i didnt understand i went to his office hours so he could explain them. I was never good at math but i ended up with an A! I LOVE HIM!

Colin has been my favorite teacher I've had. His lectures and notes are amazing, they teach you and allow you to understand the concepts in a simple manner. If you spend 4h a week doing all the homework and a bit more for review you will see great success. Extremely kind guy and always wants to help so go see him in his office hours. 10/10 teacher

All you have to do is show up and pay attention. He breaks things down very simply and has clear methods of doing things. Just a really good teacher and a nice guy. He gives you notes every class, textbook is only used for homework.

Not sure where all of these negative reviews are coming from. Gives good notes, goes over many examples for each topic, easily accessible outside class time and tells you exactly what he expects on the tests. Only negative point is that if answer is reached in a way that doesn't directly follow how he taught the material, points are docked.

Is an adequate professor who has quite difficult tests. Personally, for a few I did all of the math textbook questions, review questions, extra work, and still barely passed. My peers did about the same the average for his exams were around the low 60's. In My opinion, I believe success in his course relies too heavily on getting help out of class.

Most people are barely passing his class. You need to put a lot of effort and thinking before study for his midterms but the good part is he only has 3 midterms and one final and if you do better on the final then the midterms youll get your final worth 50% hes pretty and confusing but i preferred learning on my own and he gives good notes to help

Omg I feel like rate my prof fooled me. This is probably the worst professor that I've ever had in Kwantlen. I hate him. He does not mark fairly. If you show work it doesn't matter unless you get the right answer! He goes through notes so fast and I can't read his writing! Totally agree with the review below me. Taking this class was a mistake.

Horrible Professor.. I don't understand why hes allowed to teach at KW where its all about 101 interaction with its students. This guy does not care at ALL about how his students are doing in class, he goes through lecture materials so fast and skips examples because they are "too easy" I hate this professor. If you take him you will regret it.

Gave out print out notes to fill in, i would best math prof at kwantlen, put the effort in and you will be rewarded with an A, the test were easy, just do homework assigned for that lecture, i got behind on the homework and still managed to get a A. I would recommend this prof to anyone, he makes u want to switch programs and do a major in math

He's a fair professor but you do need to study in his class. His tests can be tough but marking is fair; again you do need to STUDY VERY HARD in his class or AN F is not avoidable.
