Comment:
Kelley gives the opportunity to be engaged in class discussion but it is not mandatory, so it's good for those days when you have no idea what's happening. The books help but her tests are very open ended so you don't need to cram. She is knowledgeable, however the test material is somewhat unrelated to most of the class discussions.

Monotone voice. Long and boring lectures. Be ready to read A LOT. Very tough grader. Would never take again. Take home exam equals writing 12 pages. It is insane and so time consuming. If you have a heavy course load the DO NOT TAKE

All this teacher does is talk about material unrelated to the class. You don't get points for showing up, but she does deduct points if you miss. She expects everyone to read 4-6 chapters between 2 different books for each class PLUS 4-8 news articles AFTER class to "review". All you do show up and her hear talk about unrelated nonsense all class.

Make sure you read the textbook and make sure you come to class. Furthermore, an actual interest in Comms and taking the art of public speaking seriously is something she seems to value. Very good feedback on speeches. Her lectures can be difficult at times, and she can come off as a bit of a hard ass, but not every college class needs to be easy.

All she will talk about is her transgender brother well sister now and her points of view on just about everything there is. Hopefully you don't want to learn much about speech because that wont happen. Best take your notebook and lots of pens to entertain yourself during class so you don't fall asleep.

The class is very easy. One week before each test, Dr. Kelley gives you a study guide with the exact questions. Class is BORING. Just go to class watch her wave her arms around in crazy ways and look off into space while trying to describe some really "abstract ideas". No need to take notesread despite what she says. Just use the study guide.

PowerPoints are so hard to understand. Tests aren't hard, but they are based on the book a lot. Lessons are pretty confusing. She takes attendance and likes to have discussion, but doesn't give a grade on participation. Didn't like the class a lot, but got an A because of extra credit. Book is also hard to understand.

Dr. Kelley means well. However her powerpoint are very difficult to read. Make SURE you READ the book or you will fail this class. She does curve grades at the end of the semester which is nice. As long as you do the assignments you will pass, but if you're looking for a high GPA DO NOT take this class.

She's okay for the first half of the semester. Then she turns into evil mode and will eat your face off. She made us teach ourselves for the last half of the semester because she just didn't feel like lecturing anymore. She is an easy grader, however, and doesn't expect much from her lower level courses. I'd still avoid her at all cost.

Dr. Kelley, is what we call her. How did she get her degree as a doctor? This is one of the many questions that ran across my mind throughout the course of the semester. Very often, would she babble about topics that are not related to the class "lecture" that she prepared for us. Having a "doctor" of her kind puts Behrend in utter shame.

she is the worst, all she talks about is her views, everyone here is right you teach yourself!! she goes on and on about things not related to the class, last week she taught the class for 20 min before someone told her she had the wrong class! if i didnt have to take her to finish my degree i would not! AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE

She is a very difficult teacher, but by the time I ended the class, I had actually learned something. These days It seems that the Humanities are getting easier and easier, and I glided through some fluff classes, but when I got to hers I found out I had to work, and work hard. I suggest you take this class ONLY if you really want to learn.

Worst professor i've ever had. She spends every class talking about her views which is not the class material. Her tests are not even appropriate for 400 level classes and she makes NO i mean NO effort to help. She will tell you that she is not your friend. That should be all you need to see.

She pretty much just talks about her own personal views and beliefs. She neglects to discuss material actually needed to know for the exams. You must read the text, she talks about things completely unrelated in class, then you take the exam based entirely on the text. Very boring in class, I fall asleep EVERY day.

I feel bad for who ever has this teacher. This is my first year at behrend and i had to take her. She is okay i guess but exams are dreadful and theres no extra cedit unless you like to watch presidential debates for hours. I litarlly have to block here out and do the reading myself on my own time. I rather listen through hours of lectures than her
