Comment:

I'm old now - graduated back in 94 - and I've taken classes at five universities. And of all of those professors, Fink easily stands out as the best of them. He'll make you work, but he'll make you love it, too, and I learned more from him than anyone. All these years later, many of his words remain in my mind and ring true. Thank you, Prof. Fink!

Comment:

I love Fink, which is why I toko him two semesters in a row. He can be hard, but he's quite entertaning, and he knows his stuff. If you make even a slight improvement in your papers, he will bump up your grade. I know. Trust me. The first paper is figuring him out. By the last, you barely have to try, and you'll get an A-.

The best professor I've ever had. He's extremely helpful with his advice, and when he calls you out in class, you learn from it. I learned more from 3 months in his class than any of my other Grady classes. He's one of the best from a bygone era of journalism, and Grady is extremely lucky to have him.

Comment:

In all my years at all my colleges (I get around), no one professor has taught me more or been a bigger influence on my life than Fink. He taught the subject matter well, but what we learned from his sharing of his life story was just as valuable. He is the gem of the department. Having him as a professor alone made transferring to UGA worthwhile.

I graduated 5 years ago and I still remember his class. Wonderful teacher. Be prepared to learn a lot and be prepared for class--he will call you out. He is pretty intimidating at first and he will test you to be sure you are paying attention.
