Conrad is a great professor, and supposedly one of the easier ones for Core I. His lectures and insights were helpful and humorous, but he usually let the group run the discussion. He's an interesting guy, and that makes the class that much more enjoyable. The final exam was a potluck, which was awesome! Lots of work, but it's well worth it.

(I took Core 2 but that's not an option) I loved his focus on nature and the interconnectedness of everything. I found a passion for conservation and farming I didn't know I had. He's a great guy but I found something lacking that I can't name. Just didn't do much for me but many of my peers loved him. I think it was just a personality thing.

I absolutely loved having Conrad as my Honors Core 1 professor! Not only is he intelligent, but he is the sweetest old man. I wish I could take him every semester for honors because I love how he lectures and makes sure everyone understands. Plus, he plays the guitar in class sometimes which makes him 10x cooler!

Odd guy. He's nice though. Expect to read since it is a fiction class. There's a few essays and a few quizzes occasionally. It's not a hard class at all, just super boring. You can only skip like 3 times. I definitely suggest doing the readings. I didn't since I read a lot of them in high school and it definitely shows if you don't do them.

I took Conrad for Honors Core II and I really loved having him. His lectures are amazing and you can tell he cares a lot about the subjects we're covering. He can be a bit unorganized at times, but overall really great professor. Definitely recommend, especially if you love talking about American Indians or the environment.

Prof. Shumaker is a very good professor who clearly lets you know his expectations. For ENGL 2370 you normally read one short story per night, and discuss it the next class. He often gives you a notice about when a pop-quiz will be also.

Dr. Shumaker is wonderful. He makes it very clear that he is there to help. He normally will give you a "heads-up" before a pop-quiz. You will have to read pretty much every night, however, the stories he assigns are actually pretty interesting. All assignments are listed clearly in the syllabus. The only tests are the mid-term and the final.

Dr. Shumaker's class was for the most part interesting! He assigns at least one short story every night, and sometimes we had quizzes over them. Only 2 tests, midterm and final that are identification and essay. Offers extra credit towards the end of the semester that is just a response to the reading, super easy and helpful! Over all good class

I loved Dr. Shumaker! He's awesome. He made the material really interesting and I really didn't mind that it was an 8am class. He gave just the right amount of material so I have alot of chances to improve my grade. I would definitely take a class with him again, and I would definitely reccomend him.

Do the readings, not only does he do pop quizzes, but they are very interesting and worth it. I would definitely take a class with him again.

This has been the most rewarding course of my college career so far. I enjoyed it greatly and the discussions were always very helpful in illuminating elements of the literature that one might miss by him- or herself. The instructor is very appreciative of participation and respectful of students' interpretations. I loved it.

He's the ideal teacher, really. His lectures are insightful, he really explores the readings, and he's so knowledgeable! You can only miss 4 times, but he's very forgiving and understanding. Just three essays and some journals to deal with. Read every other night and you'll pull an A.

I love Conrad. What a sweet little man! He really cares about the environment, people, and animals. He's very knowledgable, considerate, and intellectual. If you are taking him for honors, he does journals, but the readings aren't usually more than ten pages or so. Wonderful man!
