BEST TEACHER EVER. Was also my advisor! I took Black Women Writers and it was the most interesting class I took my junior year. She's funny, a flexible grader who will give you LOTS time for due dates and she leads the best discussions. Take at least one of her classes before you graduate!

I've never been lucky enough to take Dr. Francis as a professor, but doing research with her it's easy to see why all her reviews are so positive. She is wonderful to work with, very friendly and helpful. She doesn't treat you like you're inferior and the discussions are great. I love working with Dr. Francis and wish I could have taken a class!

Perfect freshman class! This professor really values what you say in class and respects your opinion. She will always help you when you need it and schedules individual conferences to give you feedback on your papers. No textbook, more of a reference book that will continue to be useful through college.

Dr. Francis (remember the doctor, please!) is fire lol. She is her own woman and doesn't really care who likes her or not. She very honest in class and is not afraid to tell you her opinion. Great teacher though, you read and write a lot, but you are knowledgeable when you finish the class. If you are ready to work, but have fun, TAKE HER!

Terrible. She was always late to class..at least 10 minutes sometimes more...Literally she was late to EVERY class. And when she did show up, she always kept us late because she wasnt done talking..which then made the rest of us late for our next class. Clearly did not respect our time. Plus she favors the black students.

Dr. Francis is one of my favorite professors at CofC. As long as you do the work and pay attention you cannot fail her class. Her expectations for her students are crystal clear and she is probably the most helpful professor I've ever had. If you still have to take ENG101 I highly recommend Dr. Francis.

I love, love, love Dr. Francis! I had her for African-American Literature, and it was one of the most influential classes I've ever had at C of C! It totally changed my perspective about a lot of stuff, particularly about topics on prejudice and racism. She's honest, open, funny, and always has interesting discussions and lectures! This was a really good class and a really good teacher!!! She made learning about this culture really fun and interesting. This was the one class I actually looked forward to in my schedule. She was a little negative at times, but she is interesting, grades well and makes the class worth taking!
