Her lecture can be a little boring. She cares if you understand the materials or not. I suggest you participate and try to answer her questions, if you don't it's ok. Her tests and final are easy. Before a test she'll go over the study guide and answer them if you have question. There's not a lot of HW. She's an easy grader, very nice.

Research paper 50% of grade which is intense, but does a good job explaining why. Very interactive lectures and brings lots of current events in, very nice and understanding. Took as an elective, realized it wasn't something I would do for a living. Very enjoyable, nice to read before class but not mandatory. Wish for more assignments to balance.

extremely nice and knowledgeable but don't expect her to be the type of professor to let you out of class early. we watched a lot of movies and videos relating to the topic and her tests are pretty straight-forward. can be a little boring at times but definitely full of interesting facts

Great professor. Very knowledgable and helpful. Her classes are basically made up of lecture and an occasional group work. She gives three pop quizes throughout the year, but pretty much lets you know when they are. A book review and social experiment project are what also make up your grade

Prof Elsberg is very knowledgeable and consistent. Her material is pertinet to the exams and her reviews area VERY helpful! She IS a college prof., so don't expect "the dog ate my hw" excuse to work, she'll just chuckle and say better luck next time. Great Teacher. Definitely recommend her!

Instead of taking the exams and writing the papers, she gave us an option of keeping up with the readings ourselves and writing a journal. I did this and it was such a great alternative. I did not go to the lectures since they were boring and way too long - and got an A!

It was a tough sociology class.While there are a lot of sociology profs at nova that just makes you watch movies & do easy work,Dr Elsberg actually makes you read and study a lot.Quiz and Tests were pretty tough but if you do pay attention and study a lot, you can get an A like I did.She doesn't really like it if you're late or don't show up.

I am a person who loves profs. with sociology in their background. The reason being is that they are down-to-earth. Take Dr. Elsberg; for one she is down to earth, and she is quite easy to work with. She will give you inspiration for your whole college career. TAKE SOC 201 WITH ELSBERG!

Very convenient arrangement with respect to assignments. NOT one of those mean teachers that will downgrade your work for every day it is late - this prof. is very cooperative and understanding. Very fair grader - she wants you to learn the main stuff, leaving the details out on the test. You will also have a lot of options on the test.

In my opinion, Dr. Elsberg was very boring at times; however, she did explain the material well. Pretty easy course.. just try to pay attention!
