Consuelo is easily one of the best professors at Marquette. She's the sweetest lady I've ever met and treats her students as they're her own. I had her for 2 semesters and have learned so much. My conversational skills have broadened so much from taking her class. So sad that I won't have her again :(

Senora Carrillo is basically the Colombian grandmother you've never had. She is the sweetest lady ever and truly cares about her students. As classes are all in Spanish sometimes it is difficult to actually learn the lesson. However, the book is fairly helpful. Unfortunately it is also expensive. Tests are average in difficulty but not terrible.

Consuelo is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. She's heart warming and cares about every single student. She makes learning Spanish fun and is always there to help. Participation does matter so you have to be willing to talk a lot on class, and also do the homework and reading assignments!

She's a sweetheart. Unfortunately, she doesn't teach at all....I wasted a whole semester on this class and learned absolutely nothing. Nicest lady you will ever meet. Brings in treats for the class! But if you actually want to learn don't take her.

Absolutely LOVE Consuelo. She is a saint and continually builds your confidence in the classroom with inspirational pep-talks. She's from Columbia and has an accent but hardly talks in English anyways. If you're pursuing a spanish major or minor TAKE HER TAKE HER TAKE HER. Also awesome skype sessions with students in Columbia! Great experience

She is a great person...but as a professor, she's awful. She explains Spanish grammar in Spanish and it's already hard to understand her. Attendance does count and she's very unclear. She picks favorites...even those who don't speak and downgrades the ones for trying when she says she won't. Educator? Bad. Person? Amazing.

Okay professor. Hard to understand bc of her thick Columbian accent. Definitely hasn't made my Spanish better by any means. Her tests are pretty easy and don't require a lot of studying. All homework is online and very simple to complete. I regret taking her, because I would have liked to have advanced my Spanish skills.

Consuelo was such a sweet heart! I want her to my grandmother. She was not difficult because she walked you through each lesson-- always willing to help! I would HIGHLY recommend taking any class with her. I gained so much confidence in my spanish skills because of her.

Best teacher I've had in my college career so far. She is so caring towards her students and wants everyone to do well. Goes out of her way to talk to students before/after class. Was very helpful for spanish, since most of the class is conversational. Do the readings and go to class and you'll be fine. I actually looked forward to this class.

Literally the nicest teacher I've ever had. She loves her students so much. She brought us snacks all the time and for every test, and we had a pizza party on the last day of class. She's also super helpful, and she wants to help you succeed. 3002 with her was SO EASY, too. I barely studied for her tests and got A's on all of them. Take her class!!

She was probably the best teacher that I've had in two years at Marquette. Not only was she extremely helpful, she cared about her students as though they were her kids. If you have issues not texting in a small group setting, don't expect her to let it slide. She teaches the class very well and is a teacher you MUST TAKE if you are taking spanish

She was HORRIBLE. Her lessons are hard to understand, and she does a terrible job of teaching. And on top of it, it's difficult to understand her because of her thick Columbian accent. She is a tough grader. I really disliked her and would never recommend her to anyone.

Consuelo is amazing! Truly cares about her students and loves seeing them do well. Works to make sure everyone knows what is going on and will always help those who don't understand concepts. Even bought the class breakfast once to get us to talk more! She's a wonderful professor and a wonderful person...if you have the chance, take her!

Consuelo is extremely nice. Her sole goal is to make you feel comfortable in class and genuinely wants you to do well! She is very easy to talk to and is not a harsh grader at all. She speaks clearly (colombian accent) and slowly for all of us Spanish learners. Definitely take her for whatever class you can! She is fantastic!

Consuelo is one of my favorite professors at MU. She is genuinely interested in seeing her students do well. Not a ton of work outside of class and if you go to class, the tests should be pretty easy. If you are not great at Spanish, I definitely recommend this professor. She will not move on in teaching until everyone understands the lesson.
