Dr. Jay is by far the friendliest teacher I've had at Marquette so far. I'm not a morning person and as a commuter I had to get up early to get to school, but he totally made waking up worth it. Plus, if you forgot to hand in an essay due to illness/forgetful/whatever he'll still give you credit on it which is fantastic. Also lots of extra credit!!

Most of the time spent in class was used to watch youtube videos. I took him for two semesters (ENG 1001 and 1002). He has a crazy laugh. The papers were fun to write because we got to learn about things we wanted to learn about. Overall he acted like a machine for the first year English department. He's good.

Dr. Jay is a very funny guy and makes class very enjoyable, but the thing is that he has no structure in class. He loves to play after every unit for extra credit. He loves extra credit (which is a rare thing in college). He doesn't usually respond to student's emails. He is very flexible with grading deadlines but he does give good feedback!

First and foremost, this class is an easy A, so if you're looking to boost your GPA, definitely take him! I took AP Lit and Lang in high school so this class was even easier because the material is very similar. As for his teaching style and personality, he is quite a character and there are so many extra credit opportunities when we play jeopardy.

Dr. Jay was super easy. The majority of the time was pointless. We mostly played jeopardy. He's easy, but always late grading papers and never gets them back to you. If you want to be challenged don't take this class. He like never showed up to office hours. Also bought an expensive book and we never used it.

Dr. Jay is a really cool prof who seems to care that his students succeed. He knows how to blend fun activities, like English Jeopardy, with the knowledge we need. MLA day was a lot of fun.

Nado was a really cool guy, super goofy and fun. He definitely made the 8:50am walk worth while, but I had no experience writing papers from my high school and didn't learn anything more from him. He was an average grader, you definitely still have to put work into your papers. But he likes to play EC games and you'll never stay though a full class

Dr. Jay has an incredible personality and I had a great time in his class. Highly recommend for core classes. This class wasn't as much of a breeze for me as some of the previous comments have claimed, but I had zero prior experience in academic writing. I struggled at first but definitely became a better writer over the course of the semester.

Professor Nado is a very easy grader. You have to put little to no effort into writing your papers. If you want to become better writer I would not take this class. He is very funny and strange guy but all you do is play jeopardy. This class has a ton of extra credit opportunities, it is impossible to fail. He takes forever to give work back to you

Professor Nado is a really nice and goofy man, but if you want to be challenged and get better at your writing skills do not take him. It is an easy A however, you don't learn anything and all you do is play jeopardy.

Dr. Jay is great. His feedback on papers is helpful, and he is really flexible with due dates. My class got extended time on papers any time we asked. Class is fun and every unit there is extra credit jeopardy games. Take for an easy A and a good time! Also, do not buy the textbook!!!!

He is such a good professor. We got a chance to earn extra credit all the time even though you really didn't need it. H really knows what he is doing and teaches it in a way that it is not hard to understand.

Jason Nado is hilarious. He makes english fun. The only thing that gets annoying is that he sometimes isn't the clearest of professors. Make sure you get good help in the writing center if you're not a good writer, but if you are, this class is a breeze. All you gotta do to succeed is be sure to do your assignments on time and utilize him in class.

Dr. Jay is a great teacher. The class is super easy and not much work. Able to get extra credit all the time. He is bad at getting papers back to you, but easy grader and easy class. If you can take his class.

Dr. Jay is the best English teacher to take for a core class. We rarely ever did anything in class - regularly watched videos, movies, talked about random stuff. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Don't buy the book because there is a negative 5 percent chance you will need it.

The class was easy and required minimal work besides the 4 papers which are fairly simple. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities including jeopardy before every paper. We watched plenty of videos in class and he will go off topic often. He is super nice and always willing to help. This class was a very basic english class, but well taught.

Dr. Jay is a funny guy but not a good teacher. I didn't even get all my papers back. He takes points off for dumb things and gives unclear feedback. Sure there's jeopardy, but unless you have the same interests as him (Star Wars, video games, etc) you won't ever win. I don't recommend him!

Dr. Nado is one of the best professors I ever had. He is hilarious and shows a lot of video clips in class which makes things interesting. 4 papers all year with an outline on how to organize it online. A few short writing assignments, with some additional extra credit opportunities. If you want an easy, engaging, and fun English, take Dr. Nado.
