Fantastic teacher. A bit vulgar and loud from time to time, but absolutely knows his material and good at conveying that to students. Couldn't ask for anything more - you have to read and go to class!

I don't understand why people dislike him. It's a literature course, you guess what, you have to read! What a shock. Very reading intensive, but enjoyable. If you read, pop quizzes won't be hard.

Dr. Barrow is a good teacher. He may be a little loud and if he has any coffee, you can definately tell, but he bases the class around your major and does not focus on the english aspects of class. This is an easy class that everyone should take.

BORING! Avoid him if you can. He makes these jokes that only he gets and he expects us to always understand the readings. Gives quizes where you have to identify the speaker and who was spoken to.. nothing to do with the stories. Finals are like that to. Unless you're a good memorizer.. I wouldn't try his class.

Dr. Barrows is patronizing and arrogant. He is totally uninspiring and boring. He is very rule oriented, and is suffering under the illusion that HIS opinion is the ONLY opinion. I would never suggest taking his class. When asked an insightful question, he asks as if he is being competed with. He thus discourages class participation. AVOID HIM!
