Excellent professor. Extremely open minded. Managed to get a great mark while arguing a libertarian perspective for every essay and for every tutorial question. Open to helping students after class. Course requirements were clearly outlined.

There was no communication between this professor and the students. I'm sure with the class being online it made things a little tougher, but it was literally just him posting a message at the beginning and then nothing else. Things were broken down pretty clearly, but weekly messages to guide homework/readings would have helped immensely.

His mark breakdown was pretty decent. A couple of assignments and an exam. It was a ton of writing! The readings are dense and I found only a couple not to be boring even though the class subject seemed really interesting. He did not write messages to the students. Whatever he posted at the beginning of term is all he wrote for the whole semester

Boring, monotone and no enthusiasm. His classes are like nap time, although he grades participation so attendance is (unfortunately) mandatory. I was excited to take this class up until the first lecture, now it's my biggest regret.

Just the worst class in the CS Department. He showed up late almost every class and proceeded to put the entire class to sleep. His material is outdated and his teaching style is not engaging at all. Not a recommended class.

Taught me at Waterloo - I don't know what everyone else is talking about! If you attend classes, do the reading, etc, you are guarenteed an A in this class. Discussions were very interesting - he is a bit dry but he's a really nice guy, great prof! Easy to approach, etc.

Attended all lectures, did all the readings, and yet I received nothing from this course. The assignments could be done based on your personal moral background, and the presentations were a way to avoid marking essays. Avoid like the plague! (the prof, not the course)
