Comment:
This is an introduction course and hes structured it in a way that is unnecessarily difficult. I wouldnt take again, also the text book used is unreliable, and the material taught is basically opinion claimed to be fact. Had to go to the bible several times on my own time to see if what hes teaching actually follows Gods word.

Broyles is a great prof! His lectures can be a bit dry, but he really knows his stuff. When he does crack a joke or two, it's unexpected and hilarious. Be prepared to read a lot, but you'll in turn learn a lot.

Comment:
He gives too many little facts without explaining the big picture. His lectures are dry and lengthy and don't come to many conclusions. Some of the things he covers are interesting, and he's very knowledgable, but he's not very organized, which really takes his teaching down a level.

Comment:
Lectures are very boring and he rambles on quite often. He is contradicting in his feedback for assignments and is very unclear in his instructions. Lots of reading for a 200 level class and midterms and exams and very difficult. Our class average was 60% and previous years were around 65%. Would not recommend taking him if you want an easy A.

Great guy and gives relatively interesting lectures. Larger than average work load considering a 200 level class. Grades super fairly, but tests we're hard.

Respectably speaking, I am sure that this professor is an amazing man outside of the class room and I know that he does have a heart for advancing student learning. However, its a three hour lecture which is too long and he was not concise on what we were supposed to be taking from his lectures. For learnings sake, I'd recommend someone else.

Broyles is a great prof. He's engaging, funny, caring, and really enjoys chances to connect with his students. (He's also a feminist, which is definite extra points for him). He is willing to help and provides you with all the resources you need to succeed. But, having said that, he is not very clear with instruction. Great prof overall though.

While Craig is a good teacher, this course is utterly boring. No one pays attention in class. The content is interesting, but could be presented in a better way or read on one's own time.

He is a great professor with the interest of his students at heart. He presents difficult stuff with much ease. His use of power points does not distract him from the subject matter. Above all, he exhibits a warm Christian spirit. Wish others could emulate him.

Amazing scope and understanding of the Old Testament and the intertextuality of it. Again I say, amazing knowledge of the Old Testament. Very valuable to take any of his courses offered. Does get a bit distracted at times and can tend to present tangental power-point lectures (usually interesting though). Top-notch prof!

Broyles is one of the most brilliant profs at TWU. He combines solid historical critical scholarship with amazing theological and pastoral insight. Some (not me) find his lecturing style dull (he teaches from powerpoints and has a fairly laidback delivery), but the content of his lectures is invaluable. An overall great guy!

Broyles is the most real, helpful, and wise prof I've had in a long time. His lecturing skills ARE sketchy, but ask questions to clarify things and you will be okay. A very caring guy.
