He teaches very passionately and tries different methods of teaching in order to help you learn. Whether he is good or bad really depends on how you are willing to learn. If you are an individual learner, he is not for you. If you prefer to learn in group - he is the best. I, myself, am an individual learner. However, I won't say he is bad.

Ogilvie has been the best professor I've ever had at Iowa State to date. He made the material so engaging. His lectures are very fun and very informative. He expects a lot of his students so expect to work hard. He is also very helpful during office hours. It's sad that other Physics students won't get to have him.

This professor is really hard to follow sometimes. No matter how well you think you know the material or how much you study for the tests, he always makes them so hard. Tests are only around 24 points too so you miss a few and you end up with a horrible grade. I really thought that he would have been better.

People either absolutely love or hate professors on here. I think Ogilvie is fantastic. If you "hate" him than you haven't had bad physics professors. He goes in depth into the CONCEPTS and not just aimless formula plugging. He goes out of his way with pre-lecture vids and all and really helps teach physics. I learned a lot and really enjoyed class

Absolute worst teacher I have ever encountered in my entire academic career. I got an A in his course and I still think this, which shows just how bad he really is. Likes to teach by stumping students, which doesn't help them learn, but rather deters them from caring about the course.

One of the best professors I've had at ISU! He knows his stuff and knows how to teach. Loved the review at the beginning of class and the bonus questions during lecture. Makes class fun. I loved his class.
