BETTER KNOW YOUR ALGEBRA. Mrs Black makes you work for it and you better know your algebra if you want to do well because she doesnt really take the time to review algebra concepts. Only 4 or 5 of us made it through her calculus course this semester. In general she is a nice lady, but i would not recommend her for someone who is not skilled in math

I HIGHLY recomment Ms. Black! Wonderful lady, very hepful, interactive class, welcomes question during class. Doesn't mind at all if you interupt her to ask a question. Quizes are announced and are just homework problems you have already worked, she will even tell you which section they are out of. Opportunities for bonus points too.

Nice, very helpful. Her tests are very hard so study the material thoroughly. HW not required. Quizzes are easy, no pop quizzes. If you don't study or show up it's your own fault. It takes up a lot of time and effort to pass, so don't expect an easy A.

Strict but fair. Republican but never held my beliefs against me. One of my favorite professors and people at BCTC. Expect to earn your grade but that is how it should be. She does go fast sometimes but will always help if you show an effort. I would rate her 5 1/2 but it is not on this scale! 9.8 if the scale was 10. Excellent.

The class was hard, but it's College Algebra, what else can you expect? Ms. Black was always nice, and answered questions and kept a positive attitude. She is accommodating, but she won't take any crap either. She is helpful, and will always meet with you if you need help. I escaped with a C, but I still give her a good rating.
