Mr. Poole was awesome! He's well knowledge in Geology and can go into deep details about everything. He is lenient and will let you make up or attend other labs. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Just do your work, study and you'll pass. Take him before he retires!

Historical Geology Lab was such a fun class. Dr. Poole is an awesome person and taught the subject well. His activities were very engaging and he is a great at encouraging his students. This class is designed for Geology majors, so expect it to be a little more accelerated. Over all, Dr. Poole is a great guy who really cares about his students.

Please read before taking Geology. If you love volcanoes, canyons, or gems, this class will be a positive experience. He is HILARIOUS if you catch his rock puns. He may seem rude to others, but he's just an awkward nerd. If you're not interested in geology, or physical sciences, DO NOT take this course. It will be extremely difficult for you.

I'll just list things to make it simple: Lecture is boring. Lab sessions are tolerable but there's like no point in them. There are tests for both lab and class sessions that forces you to remember things: Ex. What each minerals are used for, how they look like, etc. There's homework due every week with usually 60+ questions and lots of reading.

Don't let his Jolly Santa claus look Fool YOU. Nothing jolly about this one is is out for all the late people and gives grades based on preference. Me and my friend put the same exact ANSWER on test n he marked hers correct and mine wrong!? What in tarnation is going on. He also is very condescending

Don't take him!! He is a very friendly teacher. Lecture is extremely boring, if you're not into geology. Make sure you do the online reading assignments. He gives you one every week (usually 60 questions). Loves handing out lab worksheets. Written questions on test!!! It's a lot of material, but as long as you study Study Guides you're good to go.

The class isn't difficult if you put in some effort. The lectures can be a bit dry if geology isn't your thing. The labs are very hands on and group work heavy. Overall a good class and a great professor. Also, the extra credit he offers is easy to do, so go for it.

This was probably the worse professor that I've had throughout all of my college years. The class is not difficult. The textbook is expensive and I never bought it. He is, at times, disrespectful and frustrating to work with if you have a life problem.

WAY TO MUCH ONLINE HOMEWORK ! DOESN'T SEEM TO LIKE TO HELP STUDENTS WHEN WE ASK QUESTIONS. He's rude sometimes but in a not so noticeable way. When we ask for help he isn't clear and rushes through it so he can just move on. Lectures were SO LONG AND BORING! He does not keep you interested, and is very sensitive to noises, moving anything you do

Mr. Poole makes you work for your grade. There is online Homework due every week, up to 60 questions sometimes. There's 2 Lab Exams, the first one was the hardest. Make sure to study a lot for that one. The second one is a lot easier. There's 3 lecture exams, with the lowest being dropped & then there's a comprehensive final (All three lectures.)

Felt like this class was my major, take advantage of all the extra credit offered even if you don't think you'll need it because trust me you'll need. Test are decent but lab test are kind of hard but don't feel discouraged when you take the first lab test. Book is kind mandatory for online reading/quizzes. Good luck&learn your minerals

Even though this class is tough, he is a great teacher who will be there for you when you need help. He loves his job, and it shows in his lectures, but they are quite long and strenuous. As long as you study for every test, you should be fine. Also, there is a policy that you have to get a 60% or better on every test to pass the class.
