He is the worst teacher I have ever had in college. He is the chairperson for his department so he is not going anywhere which sucks for future students. His test are so hard you might as well start studying now. He takes attendance every class, you can also lose points for missing class. You have in class group work once a week. Best of luck!

Do not skip lectures. He takes attendance on a point system. Exams are hard, but if you study, they're manageable. He's super knowledgable and is very informative. Great professor, just not an easy course.

ONLINE CLASS: Not bad, but really boring. Glad I took it online. Found book online for free and used it. Was really easy - he gets everything from the book for tests, which are 6 short answer and the rest multiple choice. You have assignments at the end of chapters, real easy. Skim the book and BS the short answers and you'll be okay. Recommend.

Armstrong is easy. You will have group work every other class period. He give 3 to 4 tests I think. Multiple choice and essay, all tests are giving on Ilearn. The multiple choice questions will be the practice tests. The essay is what you have to look out for. I took this Spring 2014.

For a class I thought would be rather easy, it actually dropped my GPA. Be prepared to carry a dictionary to class to define the $100 words he will use. If you read the book you'll likely do fine in the class. Also be prepared for his tests, what you think is the correct answer will likely not be, but rather his answer will be slightly different.

He is a very knowledgeable professor. He relates his experiences with the Air Force to class material and gives new perspectives to the material. You will have to work to get a good grade. There is a couple of group assignments that take up a considerable amount of time. Enjoyed the class.

Boring, he gives a 350 question study guide for a 70 question test. The problem is that the study is unanswered and you have to answer it yourself and he never provides a key so you don't know if your studying the right thing or not. Take

Dr. Armstrong takes his class very serious with the assignments down to attendance. He is a very thorough teacher in explaining things and will be happy to recover if need be. He does like to use two group work assignments, 1 speech & 1 LAN project. If you are not in a lazy group all will go well, otherwise it will suck. Overall great course.

Probably the most boring and monotonous guy on campus. His classes are not hard at all and the test material is very predictable as he will make sure you know what will be on the exams. Read the book and you should get an A in his class.

He will help with anything as long as you ask. He even tries to be your best friend;however our personalities didn't click. He likes students working at their own pace.If you are comfortable with the material, take him and it will be a breeze. If you dont know it going into class, be prepared to live in his office.

He is a nice person, and I think he really cares about his students; however, the class is really boring. Learning to program this way is awful. I feel sorry for the people in the c. 1960's. It just so happens that this is the last time the class is being taught at Tech. Talk about great luck to end of in it. Programming is fun, but not cobol.

Helpful outside of class..but class itself is a waste of time if you have EVER programmed anything before. Takes attendance each day which will piss you off. COBOL sucks so he cant really be blamed for how boring the class is. Programming assignements are monotonous but easy, get a 40oz, it helps
