Hollabaugh is a pretty nice guy, and definitely willing to help if you ask. You have a great opportunity to make more than a 100 on his final. Attendance is completely optional (especially since he gives you the option to buy his powerpoint slides) but there is a quiz that he gives out every other day. Not a difficult class if you study.

Easy teacher as long as you go to class. Gives quizzes every class but its over the material you learn that day so it is impossible to get a bad quiz average. Lectures kind of boring (but I also have no interest in studying rocks.) Tests are tough but sometimes gives a curve and provides enough other smaller assignments to help your grade.

You will have to write 10 one-paged papers but they are easy. You will have quizzes everyday, but they help you in the end especially since he gives A LOT of extra credit on them. The test are somewhat difficult, but if you study enough you will do fine. Keep your writing and quiz grades high and you can expect an A or B in the class!

Professor Hollabaugh is a simple and extremely educated professor. GEOL 1121 lab was very simple and easy. Be ready to go on a field trip during the middle of the semester. It was very interesting and informative. Always log onto CourseDen to complete your quizzes and make sure you study your lab writings. STUDY STUDY STUDY!

Dr. Hollabaugh was a great professor. His class is a little boring just because i'm not into the subject at all but he know's his material! There's an SI there for tutoring, if you go to her it will definitely help understand better. Test were tough, Highest was probably 79 but still passed with an A. He gives A LOT of extra credit and is funny.

He is a great guy, very funny and tries his best to make a boring subject fun. gives a quiz everyday but are very easy and worth a lot of extra credit. The first test is impossible but the others aren't bad. If you study for maybe 5 minutes a day you will have an A in the class.

Pretty easy. The text book is a thick packet of his power Points. Teaches straight from his power points and gives quizzes everyday but the answers are in the book and he says them. Test are from the quizzes. Study those and you'll be fine. And do ALL the Exponential Learnings. Pretty good class just hate it was early.

I took this as a maymester class and made an A. He gives quizzes I'm class based on the notes so its easy, the tests are fairly easy if you study what he tells you on the study guides. He gives you 1 page papers as homework. Attendance isn't mandatory but do all the work, study and show up to class and you'll pass.

I've never been so stressed out about science in my life. Hollabaugh doesn't care about how his students do in his class. His tests aren't focused, it's a miss to try to study for and he seems to have forgotten that it's an INTRO level course. I don't recommend taking his class unless you're going to be a geology major.

Best professor to take for this class. Gives multiple opportunities to get extra credit. Almost impossible to fail, even for the many slackers that are drawn to this class. Book not necessary, power-points essential. Come to class daily because attendance is not mandatory but there is a mini quiz everyday literally coming straight from the lecture.

If you arent a geology major DO NOT take this class!! I have never been so stressed in my entire life! I studied and failed every single test! (class averages were in the 50s normally) he gives quizzes every day for attendance so you have to go to class! I emailed him 3 times concerning my grade and he never replied! I don't recommend this class!!

Hollabaugh is awesome. If you just take a minute to introduce yourself after class (his classes are pretty big) he will remember you, and he is always friendly even out of class. He is helpful, and knowledgeable about Geology. GO TO CLASS, buy his power points, make outlines using the study guides and you'll be good to go!(: Gives extra credit too!

He is a good professor. Attendence is not mandatory but you need to be there for the quizzes because it will help you grade in the end. The tests are hard but he gives extra credit to help. If you need geology i would recomend him for sure.

It took everything in my being to stay awake in class. It is so incredibly boring that words cannot describe. He is willing to help if it is needed, but you do need to know every rock and mineral and soil type that is or ever has been in existence. If you aren't going into geology... pick a different science.
