Class is discussion based so you'll probably get out at least 20-30 minutes if everyone participates. He will have pop quizzes throughout the term so it's important to read and understand bare details of the stories. His class may seem easy but he's a tough grader.

Not the most interesting class in the world, some of the stories he has are interesting and can be fun to discuss. He will give out pop quizzes out of nowhere so make sure to read the material, his midterm is open book but he will grade harshly on it. Not an easy A class.

Boring class, reading is very easy and straightforward but is a harsh grader on his tests. He stated that the average grade for our midterm was a C even though many studied heavily for it. He is not specific on what he grades on his tests and or paper.

Very nice professor. You read a ton outside of class and then come into class talking about what you read. Pop quizzes on the stories you read will happen and you won't know when. I personally didn't read any of the books and ended with a B- so if you read and discuss in class you will be fine

He's very nice. The class itself is just reading and then talking about the reading. Participation, tests, and quizzes are pretty much the only thing graded. It's good for getting an ENG credit out of the way, but not the most informational.

Yehnert is a great professor as long as you do the readings and participate in class. Tip: Try to sit near the front of the class because it's easier to participate and he will hear you even if you speak quietly.

He was an okay professor he doesnt give extra credit because he said it was too much workload for him to do. You have to READ in order to pass the class to get an easy A pretty much read and listen paying attention so that you know what will be on the test.

He is a awesome teacher! He grades based on how critically you think. His Fiction class is not a hard class if you know how to get deep within the short stories. The book is needed. He is very understanding as well, and a nice person. As for showing up to class, it will really help with tests.

Do the reading and optional study guides. His 2 midterms use question directly from them. Easy class, not easy grades. Take him if you don't want to read a lot. It's less than other classes where you read novels. This class reads short stories under 20 pages, some less than 10.

He is well read, astute, and has great insights, and yet through organic discussion he helps you achieve your own. Curtis is highly enthusiastic, amused, and never dry. As long as you read, try to analyze the story, and discuss, the exams and essays are a breeze. Like any lit class, if you don't read you're not going to do well and he'll know it.

Dr. Yehnert's teaching style is unpredictable, unconventional, quirky, authentic, and highly entertaining. Loved attending, and took every one of his classes I could fit into my schedule, even the ones I didn't need. These weren't the most challenging classes for me, but always informative with something to take away.

Nice guy. I took his Non-fiction workshop, and while I didn't feel like he taught me much about writing, I did learn a lot about editing. He focused on how to get you stuff published. He also encouraged us to ask the hard question:Why should people read this? I would recommend him.

This wasn't the easiest lit class I ever took, nor the hardest. The work load was easily managable, and I never felt neglected as a student. The grading of papers and exams seems a bit subjective and ambiguous at times, but I feel I got the grade o deserved.
