His lectures were very good. He does not rush the material. Homeworks were rather long and exams were difficult, however the level of difficulty was fair. One of the better profs I've had at Davis.

Average grade in the class was like an 86 and I took it P/NP so I'm not sure if he actually curved it and lowered people's grades, but tests were always very predictable. I never went, but apparently he'd just give out the answers to homeworks during study session.

A really nice guy, wants everyone to suceed. Notes in lecture are presented in a straightforward and neat way. Go to OHs if you have a TA that doesn't speak English. Textbook almost useless. Tests are hard, especially the first, mostly because of short time. If you're a stat major, you'll probably be fine; if you're doing WFCB, study a LOT.

Very awesome. One of the best math/stats teachers I've ever had. His tests are completely straight forward and fair. Had a great grading scheme despite high averages on his tests. I was ranked slightly above half the class and got an A-. He's coo'!

Dr. Polonik is awesome! He is a great instructor, kind and very helpul/accessible through office hours, and his tests are VERY fair. Not easy, but fair. Do the homework, understand the core concepts (none of the crazy stuff), you will find the exams straightforward. Great class, great teacher!

Prof Helped me a lot through the class. Prob Theory is very hard for me. He would help me from another way and did his best. He even give extra office hours and discussion sessions to help people. He is an excellent teacher.

Has a accent, but understandable. I stumbled my way through this course, but I have taken an introductory course to stats. Prof is helpful and thorough, fair on exams, homeworks, and at OH. Get ready to become comfortable with probability theory.
