Comment:

Colburn is a wonderful professor. However, the lectures are very boring if you are not into art history. The test come straight from the study guide. The writing part of the exam however is very difficult. You need as much info as possible on them. Go to office hours and she will help you.

Comment:

Best teacher you will ever have. She has such a passion that it is infectious. She had me so enchanted with Art History that I switched my major at the beginning of my junior year. Definitely a solid narrative teacher.

Dr. Colburn is a great professor but is extremely challenging in HUM 111. Even if you study the entire study guide, you are likely to end up with a C. She will add questions that are not on there. Beware of this.

She's very knowledgable and tries to make the lectures interesting, but hum 111 is just a dry subject. If you don't read outside of class and review your notes you will not pass. Tests have multiple choice, map and essay question. Study hard for this class.

She is so knowledgeable and overall an incredible person. She is supportive in and out of the classroom. I loved her class and getting to know her. Yes, you have to study, but she is a great teacher and you will always feel prepared.

Dr. Colburn is one of the greatest, most intelligent people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. She is always there for you and genuinely cares about your well-being/education. yo seriously Dr. Colburn has been one of my favorite professors. She genuinely cares about her students and subjects, and will even cut class to take care of students' personal needs. She teaches with authority on every subject, and is willing to just drop some life lessons on us. She's extremely nice outside of class, and I highly recommend her

She always takes time out to explain her reasoning whenever I don't understand my grade. She is incredibly devoted to what she is teaching, and she is very diligent in her work. She grades work speedily, but with care, and I would definitely take another class from her. Her passion for the class made me enjoy learning.

Professor Colburn is a great teacher. She really cares about her students and is willing to work with you. You do need to study for her class, it is not an easy a, but she makes it a lot of fun. She is insanely intelligent and really knows what she is talking about. I'm not an art major and I would love to take any class with her. Favorite Prof.

Dr. Colburn is amazing. If there is something that needed to be excavated, she's probably done that excavation. She makes an effort to make sure you understand the material. I took her Roman Art class as a G.E. and I learned way more than I thought I would. She also tries her best to give you all the resources you need to be successful ! 10/10 !

Great professor, great class, and very engaging material. Overall organized, interesting and informational class. This is the class where the bigger questions of life and art are asked and where you can take previous criticisms at face value, pick and choose, then create one's own ideology. This professor is amazing, completely rocked my world. So much that I changed my major within a month of her class. It's not an easy class, but it's well worth it. The none majors even liked her class. She has an organized class directed toward general understanding and appreciation for the artifacts discussed.

took this class for GE req. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU ARE NOT AN ART MAJOR!!! unbelievable amounts of useless information you have to memorize to pass the exams. never expected to have to do this much work for a freakin fine arts GE. geez. Colburn isn't easy, but she's a good teacher. Some might say that she takes her GE classes a little too seriously since the exams are hard and require a lot of memorization. I bombed the first midterm, but knew what to expect on the final and did much better. Be prepared to work, and definitely take good notes. She expects a lot for a decent grade.

She is a great professor. She is passionate about what she teaches and wants everyone to learn and love it too. Her art history classes are a lot of work, but if you apply yourself you will get a good grade. Lectures are mandatory. If you listen and keep up with reading then studying for tests should just be reviewing. Do the service learning Proj.
