Cynthia Garrett is not only a wonderful professor but one of the smartest and most helpful women I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. She always goes over homework material in class, so it's not necessary to read, but take diligent notes in class!!

A lot of people are put off by Prof Garrett's no-nonsense approach to life and might be bored by her teaching. Give her a chance and you'll find a woman with a great sense of humor, who is the most reliable prof in the English department at Wells and who is extremely helpful when it comes to writing papers. Her praise is worth the earning!

Professor Garrett is a woman of integrity. Not only is she a genius in her field, but her low-key humor brings a spark to Early Modern English Love Poetry. She is an extremely inclusive professor, addressing issues of homosexuality and religion in her classes. She's also willing to help her students in any way, as long as they seek her out.

I liked her. But if you answer a question in a way she wasn't looking for, you get the "umm....ookaay" response. If you answer it correctly though, you get the "okay, yes, yes" with a very enthusiastic nod of the head. She's not extremely passionate about the subject, but I've only taken a 100-level course with her. Maybe she gets more passionate the higher up in courses?.

I hate hate hate this class. But she is enthusiastic about the material and it helps excite you. I or my class mates rarely get excited excpet for the very rare exciting material. She will often drone on and you'll get "Ummmmm . . . okay" often. Other than that it was a pretty ok class.

When I first came to Wells, I wasn't too fond with her because she'd do the infamous "Well...okay...um...yeah...okaaay" Then when I became a senior I found an entirely new admiration for her. She's funny as hell once you get to know her!
