Cynthia is extremely kind, but she also doesn't let you push her around. She will be honest and make you work but she accepts critique gracefully. She's a nurturing professor but won't take excuses so if that's it not your thing she's not for you. She engages students and makes a comfortable atmosphere. Will be taking more programs with her.

Comment:
Cynthia is strong and wonderful teacher. In Wisdom of the Body she used 5Rythms, a dancing meditation, to help us connect to our bodies. Even people who weren't hippie-woo-woo really liked the 5Rythms. She wasn't always clear on assignments, but the work was still manageable. Lots of reading, lots of work. I learned SO MUCH. And I had so much fun!

Cynthia is an AMAZING professor. I had an incredible year with her, and learned so much from her earthy, comprehensive teaching style. Take a program/class with her if you et the chance!

She was a very nice person and understanding. She was very touchy feely, cried in front of class a couple of times for unprofessional reasons. Was not super clear about assignments. She did get a little too personal sometimes, sharing things about her life that were better kept to herself. I enjoyed her economics lectres, but mot much else

Cynthia's great, but not for everyone. She is a nurturer. She respects other points of view. Because of these traits, Cynthia is a great fit for those who want a personal relationship/life guidance with their faculty, for those who feel behind in terms of their academic level, and for those who have unpopular opinions/are very opinionated.

Cynthia is very fun, but isn't very effective as a teacher. She expected nothing of her students, and if one failed to do that, she still wouldn't care. She also would give an assignment to the class, and when a small group of students asked after class, she would then change the assignment, without telling anyone else. But a very loving individual

Amazing faculty - challenging & encouraging - gave perspective to my work. Basically allowed me to explore multiple dimensions of women's health across cultures. It wasn't easy, but she'll fully support sincere inquiry and dedication.

Worst teacher I have ever had. She claimed that I "fell through the cracks" even though she made absolutely no effort to acknowledge me during the quarter. Picked favourites and often taught us absolutely nothing. I honestly did not learn a damn thing in that class. Very unprofessional and a horrible teacher. Should consider retiring.

Cynthia is the worst professor I've ever had. She disliked me for no apparent reason (yes, I'm female), she was spacey, unclear with assignments, didn't respond well to criticism, communicated badly, and actually talked about me behind my back to my work group. No joke. She treated our junior/senior level class like children.

has very businesslike approach to teaching. is very exact about tardiness, assignments missed, etc. will not accept "excuses" like family problems, need to work while in school, or the fact that she teaches you absolutely nothing.
