She is a great professor and very helpful. She gives an outline for each paper and is very clear about what you need to put in it. She is excellent about giving feedback and what you need to fix! If you put in effort and do what is expected you will do great! Would definitely recommend her to anyone taking GSW!

Dr. M was cool at first but now I wish I wouldn't have chosen her. Get out while you can. 1120 is all about syntheses and she has not mentioned anything about it or has even tried to teach it. You're better off going to the learning commons because she is absolutely worthless when it comes to needing help.

Lectures are extremely boring, does not teach you anything. Easy class considering she gives you an exact outline of how each paper should be set up. Very unprofessional and lost a few of my papers to later on accuse me of never turning them in. Only went to class to get a new assignment and turn one in.

I highly recommend taking Dr. Mahaffey for any GSW or any other class. She will help you 100% in every way possible. As long as you are putting in the effort, time and work you will pass smoothly. Follow her directions and advice. If you are having difficulties ask her for help, SHE WILL HELP YOU! She is someone i'll remember the rest if my life

Very nice and down to earth teacher. She is very clear about her assignments and such. The class is really easy if you stay on board the "writing train" and attend each class. She is very helpful with assignments and any other problems. Best writing teach I have had.

She is incredibly sweet and non judgmental. She is very encouraging and wants every student to do their best. I would highly recommend taking a class of hers! She has a wicked awesome personality and never makes you feel stupid. I was actually sad when the semester ended.

Her class was so easy! She didn't have tests/quizzes, except a midterm and final, and she tells you exactly what is going to be on them. There's a semester long reading assignment, but as long as you work within her suggested once-a-week turn-in, you'll get a 100%! I highly suggest her!
