She is a very nice person in general. She is very smart as well, but she is extremely unorganized. Hands papers back super late. sometimes even forgets them. Also, she is very sarcastic as well, some may even take it as rude. Not the worst professor, but definitely not the best.

She's a nice person, but by far the most unorganized professor I've ever had. Never gets grading done on time. Her papers are all over the place.

Dr. McCollie-Lewis is the living example of the phrase "I like her as a person but I hate her as a teacher". She is knowledgeable, cool and really good at having interesting conversation. When she gets to the classroom, however, this completely changes. She becomes feisty, uninteresting and tries to hard to be that fun cool teacher.

She is very helpful with her students. She is available to reach by email, phone or making an appointment to speak with her in her office. She loves when her students succeed.

This lady never came to class prepared or on time. She assigns things and then forgets that she assigned them. You can tell she really doesn't enjoy teaching. She was never helpful or understanding. When you see this lady as your teacher, don't take the course.

Took her for linguistics. It was the worst. She was a nice lady, but definitely feisty. She had the tendency to blatantly insult your intelligence in front of the whole class. One thing I have to give to her, was that she was knowledgeable.

I took Grammar and Usage with Professor McCollie-Lewis and it was a super helpful course. As an English major, it helps explain why we write what we write. She's not difficult and if you ask questions, she answers them.

Dr McCollie is a wonderful teacher. I had her for RWAD and her focus was not to get me to pass the WRAP her focus was to make a better writer, and she succeeded. She is a bit "snappy" with her students, but I suggest rolling with the punches. Give her respect and do her assignments on time and you wont have a problem..

Dr.McCollie-lewis is a wonderful teacher, but she is very challenging and a bit snippy with her students. She taught me things I would have never imagined. I had her for RWAD and without her I don't think I would have passed the WRAP. Her method of teaching is very different, but I recommend paying attention and doing all assignments.

THE best teacher at njcu. extremely helpful but challenging- you must do the work to get a grade.(most students here dont like to work hard, thats why they dont like her). she is caring and will work with you if you have issues, she truely wants all her students to pass, she isnt out to get anyone. she is FANTASTIC!!

This professor was the worst!!! first off she gave me an F because i supposedly didnt email my final exam to her, which in fact i did. I wrte to her asking for a grade change cause she specifically said Irecieved and F because of the non existence of my final exam. a week passes no grade change what a waste of money, time , and breath

Dr. McCollie-Lewis is an excellent professor and a very nice person. I have her for linguistics at the moment, The class is very interesting and my fellow students seem to enjoy it as much as I do. You have to understand the material may seem dull but she does her best to make it interesting and memorable for us. I definetly recommend her.

If you value true education and aren't afraid to work, she is the best. Her linguistics class is one of the closest to an ivy education that you'll get here. If you're more concerned about passing just to get a degree, look elsewhere.

This Linguistics class had to be one of the worst classes I ever had. I dropped it and so did just about every other student. I looked in towards the end of the semester and there were TWO students left. That should tell you something. Avoid her at all costs if you value being respected as a student along with your grade.

Her ways of showing us how to write were effective except she doesnt explain it clearly. She is very unorganized, lazy and has no sense of individuality in the class its her vs the class. She makes weird unnecessary facial expressions and makes you feel small all the time. Don't take her class if you want to learn something trust me.

I took her for Linguistics and she was fantastic. Just do your work and you will be fine. She critiques your work rather harshly, but you will learn, and that is the reason for being there.

She's really not as bad as people make her out to be. I think she's very nice, actually, even if she sometimes (unintentionally) makes people feel stupid. The class is a lot of work, but it's extremely interesting and she is very smart. The sociolinguistic autobiography isn't as bad as it sounds, either. I learned a lot, totally worth it!

She has the ability to make you hate and want to quit school.I put so much work into this coarse.I stayed up until 4AM doing the Project and then had 2 wake up at 7AM to revise my Socio-AutoBio.For what? She failed me.She doesnt even consider the hard work I did.But not even she can stop or prevent me from getting my education.I feel sorry for her.

All the negative ratings here are true. After putting more work into this course than any other in the last 3 years, I was fighting for a B. Rolls her eyes at students constantly and is constantly disrespectful. Doesn't understand we have jobs and other classes. So much work with very little payoff. Almost makes me want to quit school. Almost.

This is a very difficult course. She is very demanding, and expects excellence from her students. That is fine, since we are all English majors...
