This was an Urban History class and was pretty interesting. We had one project where we read a novel and then wrote about how it applied to the concepts we had learned. There were a total of 3 exams that were pretty difficult. Overall though, he is a great professor and I would highly recommend taking him.

One of the best professors at Eureka and extremely knowledgeable. He was running for a US Congressional seat during the semester and still found the time to teach our class. I highly recommend taking his US history classes.

Dr Rodriguez is a fantastic professor and one of the best at Eureka. This class was US history from 1865 to the present and it was very enjoyable. We had quizzes once a week and 3 exams for the whole semester. The final was NOT cumulative either! He does a really good job integrating the history of Eureka College into the overall class as well.

Dr. Rodriguez is truly one of the most dedicated professors at this college. He not only loves his job, but the students who he interacts with while doing it. Not only does he teach his class what he's outlined in the syllabus, he teaches you to be a better person in general and puts forth the extra mile just to help you out both in class and out..

This was a pretty easy class. Readings, 6 essays, 12 quizzes. Some of the readings were difficult but the class discussions were very interesting. Reading is a must in this class. The essays were short and did not take long to complete. I liked this class solely for the class discussions.

As someone who has experienced many educators from kindergarten through my Master's Degree, I can say that Dr. Rodriguez is the best teacher that I have ever had. His love for his subject is infectious to those who take his classes. His knowledge base is unlike any educator I have ever met. Finally, he genuinely wants students to succeed.

one of the most boring classes i have ever been in. discussion and analysis of readings were shallow and meaningless. he seemed to have no historical perspective on anything the class covered whatsoever, which is rather alarming for a history professor

The worst class that I took in college. The discussion were painful, akward and didn't lead to intellectual growth. Dr. R is one of the nicest and most dedicated people that I know, but I got nothing out of this class. Huge disappointment. The few times that he talked about his area of expertise, slavery, were the only good moments in the class.

Dr. Rodriguez is a master of history! He is a Chief of all that which pertains to the United States! His teaching is what stories are made from! His knowledge and intellect rival the greats of Jefferson, Lincoln, and Franklin! In short JROD is the best teacher in the World!!!
