Lectures directly from a word document she posts online. The lectures and lab assignments didn't always correlate. I honestly learned more on my own than she taught me in class. She did, however, give plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Don't take her if you absolutely do not have to. Her tests and outside lab projects are so vague. She is also not approachable and seems very irritable and mean. I honestly have never seen so many people get Fs on exams. I really wish I took this class with another prof.

Tanner is a good lecturer and explains concepts well. While irritable at times, she's actually nice and funny. If you don't attend class, the notes and labs won't make sense. Even if you attend, some test questions are poorly worded. However, she gives test outlines and extra credit. The class is easy and meaningful if you put in slight effort.

This year she decided she wanted to use a new book, so everyone had to get a book that had just come out. We barely used it. She doesn't explain things well and the homework she gives is pretty vague sometimes.

Cindy teaches off of a text document with very few examples. If you have to take this professor, get ready to read StackOverflow, and watch youtube videos, as those are the best options you will have at learning anything java related. When she does bring her own coded programs as examples they are usually full of errors that she has to fix first.

Cindy is one of the best teachers in the CS department. She's a tough grader but she cares about her students. She explains the material really well and shows examples.

Terrible. Very boring and she changes her minds very fast on what she wants for projects. Tests are okay but the thing she says to study is very unclear. I would never have take this class if there were other options but i think she was the only one who teaches this course. Also, although i didnt miss any class i didnt learn anything from class:(

Inconsistent grading. Poorly prepared materials. Heavily biased and just in general rude(This may vary though depending on her bias towards you). Carefully go through returned assignments and check where she took off points. For the same mistake, she will take off different points at different times.

Tanner told us the first day that she knows the subject is boring but she tries to make it alright for us and I believe her, it's just the subject is bad... My tips: Read the article for midterm Try to get all "free" points from project and lab. For the exam it should be enough to just attend classes and try to listen or read her slides.

If you miss class I guarantee you'll be lost on the notes she provides. Final is cumulative, there's a whole bunch of course material as this is a hugely diverse subject matter (also sorta boring). She usually gives you a detailed outline of the exams before hand. Make sure your group goes in for "consults" with her as much as possible throughout.

She's a little quirky, but an alright teacher. She tends to be very argumentative over innocent student questions. She's very far from being an approachable teacher. As I've seen in previous reviews, please, please read the textbook and notes. If you don't go to class, you won't understand her provided notes.

She gives open ended assignments but she wants your answer to match her answer. The class is boring and you can skip a lot and just study a week before. I can't stress this enough: understand what she wants. If you at least read, you'll get a C, but to get an A you need to somehow predict the rubric for questions. Average teacher, argumentative

Mrs. Tanner is the single driest professor here at WVU. She can't keep her student's attention. Her exams are rough, but they are doable if you study a little bit. Yes, No, You're Sleeping?

Tanner is rarely clear on what she wants on projects. Lectures feel like an eternity. Going to class isn't even worth it. Absolutely checks every assignment for cheating and if caught penalties are harsh. Labs and projects are really tough. I would suggest another teacher.

Expect to have lectures that feel like they go on for days. The class is pretty dry. There are only two tests all semester so make sure to do well on both of them.

Overall a decent teacher and very clear. Uses note sheets that she posts online that covers everything you'll need to know in the class. Also tells you what's going to be on the exam before you take it. Rarely you'll find a misleading question, but overall easy exams. Projects are simple as long as you understand.

Do yourself a favor and learn Java syntax on your own. You will not learn it in this class or 110. She teaches concepts of programming and the system but little to no syntax which you WILL lose points on for labs and projects. Homeworks are super easy. extra credit assignments take a lot of work but help your grade. Tests are fair.

Not a bad class, but it's very boring. The only fun thing you do all semester is make an htmlcss prototype, but you have to learn a lot of that outside of class. The content is pretty self-explanatory and test aren't difficult. Very easy A if you just put in the little bit of group effort.

She is amazing. I learned nothing in CS 110 and she taught me everything conceptually. I highly recommend her but she is not an easy A. She's sarcastic, funny and very knowledgable.

She pretty much comes out and tells you that the class is boring and no one ever goes to it. This class has no actual coding, and you just make a fake website with your group for 12 weeks and make charts of your "development". Useless course but it's require. At least Tanner is a cool teacher.
