Such a sweet professor. Cares about his students and makes sure you understand. Homework is optional, but helps when it comes to the exams. He has office hours which helped me a lot. I was so nervous to take precalc, but with Garlick it was bearable!!!!

Professor Garlick was the first best professor that I have ever had in Maths. I moved to USA 1 year ago before taking his class and sometimes I had questions because the language and he was patience with me. He makes sure you understand all. His lectures are so clear and organized that OMG.I loved them! & He gave us study guides. HE IS THE BEST.

Professor Garlick helped me so much with this class. I had missed a few classes because I had military training and he made sure I was caught up and he didn't doubt that I could still get a great grade. I ended up with a B which was pretty good for missing so many classes. I appreciated all of his help in the end. He's a good guy!

By far the best math teacher I have ever taken. When he walks in he goes straight to the board and starts with examples right away. Gives plenty examples on the topic so when you approach the homework you're not lost. Must agree with another review he doesn't appear to like 1 on 1 tutoring as much as a full class. Lectures usually end early too.

Comment:

Some Professors are passionate about their subject and others are passionate about teaching their subject. That's Professor Garlick. He goes to great lengths to help students understand what's being taught. He's brilliant, entertaining, caring, and for a mature gentleman, very easy on the eyes. I would take his class again just for the fun of it.

Take him. You would be doing yourself a favor, especially if you don't like math. Only thing is, he's not very helpful outside of class. He loves to teach a full class, but appears to hate tutoring 1 to 1. And this is coming from one of his best students, easy A if you put in the time and pay the f attention to the conceptual components of calc. :)

For the longest time, people kept telling me stats was going to be a difficult course, but not with Garlick. I took the class online. Homework was not too time consuming, and was very helpful. He also had reviews on there before the exam which was exactly what the test was just with different numbers. Absolutely loved the class and would take again

Definitely the best professor I've had. I had him for statistics and he made every single topic very clear. He was ALWAYS willing to offer extra help and just wants you to understand it. He always brings it down to a level that you can relate on so it's not just random number crunching. I wish he could teach all of my math courses. He's the best!

Great teacher. Best professor I've had at CCM. Every professor should strive to be on his level. He works out a problem (So you learn how to do it from him), he writes an example on the board, gives you a few mins to try it yourself then he works out the problem step by step to show you how to do it. No surprises here, you earn your grade though.

Very clear, best math teacher I ever had. Made Calculus seem easy!! I wish I could take him for my summer Calc II class. Highly recommend taking his class, he also makes it interesting by explaining how equations can be applied.

Basic statistics this class was so easy, everything is done on mymathlab. The tests are the exact same questions as the reviews just with different numbers. He doesnt assign much homework and it is done at your own pace. Midterm and final are on campus, but they are easy if you did the reviews. Deff reccomend him for this class!
