Really good teacher. Never used the book, but the tests were all based on his lectures. Bring a laptop and take REALLY good notes. I read all my notes the night before the test and got an A. Only three tests and one paper, final is last test and not a comprehensive one. Really easy class. Recommend teacher.

He knows his history! Great lecturer. He applies past ideas to current situations to make it easy to understand. Tests are directly from notes. Questions are to the point, easy, and not tricky. He repeats info alot, cause that's what's on his tests.

Unless you have A.D.D. you will not fall asleep in his class. The key is to pay attention and study every day, participate in class, the term paper is assigned at the beginning of the semester, don't wait to start a week before the due date. I got an A just by doing what was expected...you can too!

As stated before, there is a method to his madness. Enjoys student participation and greatly encourages the class to express their viewpoint on past and current events. Though he tends to wander and repeat himself, he is very knowledgable. Extremely intelligent and kind professor. Great reviews for tests.

I got a C in his class. I wish I would have did better, but his lectures are not clear. You do not know what notes to take because he is not very clear. I usually take a lot of notes, but throughout the whole semester in his class I only have like 10 pages of notes. I guess I got my C just from listening to him.

My first impression of Dr. Kanter was rather poor but after a few weeks, I recognized the method in his madness. What seems random suddenly comes together like a jigsaw puzzle and voila! a clear picture emerges. His tests are straightforward and he gives a good review beforehand. I'm a Kanter convert. I just love this professor and his class.
